Magic Aug 27th 7 night Med Kids/Teens Thread

Hi Everybody,

Sorry, I have not posted in so long. I just got back from vacation last week and life seems to have descended into chaos since. However, the vacation was still nice. It was an Eastern Med Cruise (my first) and the ports were fabulous. I was able to visit Istanbul (including the Asian side), Ephesus, the Parthenon, and many other fascinating places I had never been to before (and a few that I had visited, however, still appreciated). Still, though the ports were phenomenal, the cruise line, RCI (another first), was very mediocre. The majority of the staff were rude, the food was the worst I have ever had on of 5 cruise lines, the menus often repeated, the activities were infrequent and badly run, the teen club activities consisted of unlocking the door to the room (there weren't even crew members there a lot of the time). Still, the ports were amazing so the vacation still was nice even if it was not the amazing trip that we had hoped for and as many cruises are. Plus, we get an awesome Disney cruise to look forward to in just a few months:woohoo:.

DisneyBrits-I am glad that my answers were helpful, however, I seriously doubt that Disney would hire a 14 year old. Still, thank you for the compliment and I hope that you decide to join in with some of the fun of FEs etc. If you are really interested in finding out more about what Disney Cruises are like then the links might interest you http://erikandjason2010.blogspot.com/ and http://adventureserikjason.blogspot.com/2011/04/here-we-go-again.html. They are blogs written by my mother's best friend and a great friend of the family who is like an uncle to me various Disney trips that he takes with his husband. He posts a new post each day, is an amusing and talented writer, and I feel gives you a fairly good idea about what to expect on a Disney trip. The first link is from a trip that they took last year involving a few days at Disney World, a Disney Med Cruise (almost the same itinerary as our cruise), and a Disney TA (all on our ship, the Magic). The other one is from a trip that he is on now involving a few days at Disneyland, the Alaskan Repo, and the Alaskan Cruise (on the Wonder (the Magic's sister ship). If you want to really get a feel for it ahead of time that is the best thing that I can suggest.

It i really neat that you are a Girl Guide leader. Were you a Guide as a child too? I have been a Scout since Brownies when I was 5. Our levels are as follows:

Daisies (Kindergarten and 1st grade)
Brownies (2nd and 3rd grade)
Juniors (4th and 5th grade)
Cadettes (6th, 7th, and 8th grade)
Seniors (9th and 10th grade)
Ambassadors (11th and 12th grade)
However, this is a new system and a little bit different than what I did when I was little. For example back then Daisies was only one year and Brownies was three years so they switched it about some. I am also a Cadette even though I am in 9th grade because I am still the same age as most Cadettes and I preferred to be with my own age group. I am also completely jealous that Guides get to continue through college (the same is true of Slovenian and many other scouting/guiding organizations). It would be so much fun if you could show me some badges I will also bring my vests to show you. I love learning about other scout/guide organizations. How long have you been a leader? I cannot to meet you and talk in person.

It is too bad that Matthew is feeling shy. Tell him that we would love to see some post and don't bite. Still I am sure that we can at least meet up on the ship. I was hoping to arrange a meet up for once we are onboard sometime closer to the cruise. Possibly ice cream on Deck 9 after muster drill maybe the prospect of ice cream (and meeting some other kids) will lure him out.

Josh-Rio just got Kingdom Keepers 2 and 3 recently too. I am sure that he will be thrilled to have someone to talk about them with once he finally starts posting again. How far in are you?

Bye, everybody. Hopefully, I will be able to post more regularly now.

I have now finished Book 2 and I am up to Chapter 12 in Book 3.

Hey! im Lindsay! im planning my 9th trip to disney, I'm really excited because this time it will be through Make A Wish! im so excited although, sometimes disboards confuses me. Any help would be awesome :)

Hi Lindsay,

Welcome. It is great to have some new kids posting. How old are you? I am 14. Have you sailed Disney before or is this the first time? This will be my 9th Disney cruise. I am also a complete Disney addict when we lived in the US my family used to visit three or four times each year. I live in Germany now though so it is harder to get there. Have you ever taken a trip there around Christmas time before? All the decorations in the parks are spectacular and the Osborn lights and the Animal Kingdom decorations are particularly gorgeous. I cannot wait to get to know you.

Hello it's Matthew!
I'm looking forward to the Disney cruise! Are there computers which I can play on when I'm there?:surfweb:
Is there a cinema on board? popcorn:: I like Disney movies. I want to draw the Disney symbols of the movies, are there art stations?

My favourite book at the moment is Diary of a wimpy kid, and I just bought a nemo hard back book which is the story of nemo but in cartoon. I'll probably be reading them on the aeroplane!

I'll probably be laughing all week on this cruise :rotfl2:
Bye bye:)

Hi Matthew,

DCL is awesome. I am sure that you will love the cruise. How old are you? I am 14. There are computers in the kid's club with lots of Disney computer games. I never play them, however, my brother says that the games are pretty fun. His favorite is the WALL-E game. Yes, there is a cinema on board and it normally shows the new Disney movies. There are also TVs in the kid's clubs that tend to show the older Disney movies during movie nights and the like. The kid's clubs also have lots of craft supplies and a large craft area. There are a lot of scheduled crafts, however, you can also normally ask one of the counselors for craft supplies if you want to do something simple like draw or something else of the sort. I have never read Diary of a Wimpy Kid, however, I have heard that it is good. You're Nemo book also sounds interesting. That is a good idea to read it on the airplane.

Hey Matthew!

I don't know much about Disney Cruises so I can't answer your question but, what things do you like to do on the computer?

JOSH

Thanks for the messages!

I really hope that the new Cars 2 movie and tangled will be showing on the cinema on the ship. I love movies! popcorn:: I have just been to see Rio in 3D, it was cool! :3dglasses
To be honest, I just want to have loads of fun with you guys.

thanks again for the messages. By the way, I'm six and will be nearly seven when we are on holiday.

Matthew:banana:

Forgot to answer your question Josh,
I like to go on the kids web sites on the computer. My favourites are Nick Junior, Cartoon network and Disney Junior. My brother likes cbeebies!

On the cruise, I want to draw loads of pictures of my favourite disney Characters.
Matthew

Hi Matthew,

Tangled will probably show a couple times, however, not a lot since it is older. However, at the very least it will most likely be on the TVs in the staterooms. I hope that it is there. It is a really cute movie. Cars 2 will almost certainly be showing. You saw Rio? I thought that he was always 3D. Not to mention that I did not realize that he had taken any recent trips to Britain. (Rio is my little brother's name.) Unfortunately, you will not be able to go on the internet from the ship without paying extra, however, (while I have never played them I have heard) the computer games in the clubs are quite fun. You will be able to visit both the Oceaneer Club and the Oceaneer Lab. I believe that both of them have computers, however, I am not certain about the Club (it has been a long time since I was there). Really though, either way I am sure that you will have a great time there are a lot of really fun activities going on. If you ask one of the counselors if you can draw you should always be able to get plain paper or Disney coloring sheets so I am positive that you will be able to draw till you heart's content.

PS
At least when I was there the kid's clubs showed movies as an extra thing you could do if you did not want to do the main activity plus normally have a 'movie night' at least one night of the trip. So, you might like that since you love movies.
