Magic as Wide as a smile!10/28 Trip Report Link!!!!

Yay, this month! Your parade pictures are great. Sounds like BLT may end up being your family's favorite place to stay.

Really, my only concern is that I've heard the studios are really small! We shall see!

The studio IS really small. I was so surprised. Seriously, I think it is smaller than a value resort room. In fact, I know it has to be smaller than a value room. There is literally 1 ft of space between the bed and the pull-out. There isn't even enough room for a real night stand - its some tiny ikea-esque thing. Then the pull-out is literally right up against the slider. That room maximum capacity is 2. A family of 4, even with small kids, would be so cramped. If it wasn't for the fabulous location no one would EVER book a studio there. It's ridiculously small. Jen and I did fine, but of course we spent little time in the room and I tried to fold up the pull out ever day (except the day we overslept and needed to get to our segway tour).

That being said - you and your daughter will have a great time there because the location is fab and its your and your daughter. I think if you keep the room straightened up it will really help and you can put all your empty luggage by the front door because there is a lot of dark and wasted space there.

And watch those bathroom floors - they are dangerously slippery. :scared1:

Joining you in the THIS MONTH dance.

I've read numerous posts that the studio is TINY! You certainly reiterate that! I think DD might end up sleeping with me so that will end up freeing up room! I am interested to see the setup with the pull out actually out though! :scared1: I'm really happy to be staying in a 1 bedroom in a few weeks! I know DH wouldn't want to be cramped!

We'll definitely be careful of the bathroom floor! :scared1:

YAY!! You're going to Disney this month!! WOOT WOOT!!!!!

I will tell you that the pull out was very comfortable. It was as good as a bed, probably because it was so new. Jen offered me the bed the first night under the premise that I was "old" and might need it :sad2:, but I declined. That's how I started the whole "elder" thing for our trip! Sheesh!

:lmao: I've heard that the pullout is comfortable! DD complained last Oct that the pullout at SSR was uncomfortable! I sat on it one morning and watched TV with the kiddos and it really was uncomfortable! The kids didn't complain about the one at Kidani though!

We did the BLT tour on our last day at Disney, so we got a chance to see those studios and yes, I agree, they are SMALL. I think the square footage is the same as a normal Studio; however, due to the crazy layout they have of it, it makes it seem smaller. Unlike all the other Studios there is a "hallway" with the bathroom sink on one side and the kitchen on the other, which makes a big wall in the bedroom, rather than having it more open and just the one wall of the bathroom area.

They are switching around the Studios because people do NOT like the kitchen sink/bathroom sink combo (I'm one of them! Ew!). I think they have learned their lesson. Hopefully any new properties will not have that crazy orientation and they just leave the Studio kitchen against the normal wall instead of building a wall in the middle of the room. I think they did it so the kitchentte would be bigger, but really - do we need that much space in a Studio kitchen that doesn't have a stove????

I did find out that the handicapped accessible rooms have the kitchenette in the more normal layout, it also has a separated tub and shower instead of the 2 in 1. I wonder if the big 'ol wall is there since the kitchenette isn't in the middle of the Studio. :scratchin

I've heard about those floors! I'm going to coat the thing in towels when H needs to bathe. Freaks me out!!

Come to think of it, I remember reading that they're going to be changing the studios at BLT! I think it was in Disney Files! I totally agree about the bathroom and kitchen sharing a sink! That is just gross!

I've been thinking about buying a small bathmat to use in the bathroom, I figure I can throw it in the dryer the morning we leave and then put it in the Owners Locker!

So I left off with us at CR at Chef Mickey’s!

Our server came and took our drink order and we were off to the buffet! We were all soon enjoying our dinner. The food at Chef Mickey’s definitely isn’t gourmet but it does the job and the kiddos enjoy the fact that there is so much that can pick at! Not to mention, a wise Diser who hasn’t been heard from in a while once said that some meals are more about the experience ;)

Soon Donald was at our table to visit!

Followed soon after by Mickey, who was very funny and joked with the kids!

Next came Goofy! Goofy was very excited to see that Johnny had his Goofy as Darth Vader along for dinner!

Then it was time for a visit from Pluto! What a cutie!

We continued enjoying our dinner when I saw an older women enter the room. Normally I don’t notice people coming and going in restaurants but this lady seemed very hesitant, almost confused.

The next thing I know she falls over! I’m not sure if she passed out or tripped. I’m leaning toward tripping.

The man at the table next to where she fell jumped up to help her and so did DH and BIL. DH and BIL seemed rather hesitant once the stood.

I asked DH what was wrong and he said her face was cover in blood! Apparently she hit the floor face first!

Luckily for her, as we later found out, the man sitting at the table next to where she feel was a doctor and he was great with her.

Within seconds of her falling a women, who I guess was the manager appeared, family members soon arrived and then several other managerial looking people. A WDW security guard also arrived and he called for an ambulance.

Soon 2 EMT’s arrived and took care of the lady. They put her on a stretcher and took her out. The poor lady was so upset and her nose was visibly out of whack! Ouch!

It was awful! I felt so bad for her and her family! She was obvious in WDW with her husband, children and grandchildren! What a terrible thing to happen on vacation! Just not magical!

They whole thing from when she fell until when they took her out on the stretcher took probably 20 minutes. But for 20 minutes the whole place was at a stand still. Nothing seemed to happen in the area we were seated in. No new families were seated. No character visits. I’m not even sure we saw our waitress.

Once the lady was off to get help things returned to relative normal in the room.

It was also time for dessert! Yummy!

I had something special planned!

In February Jen turned 40 and Justin turned 17! It may not have been February, but it was close enough for me ;)

So, when it was time to celebrate with Mickey Mouse again our waitress arrived with something special I had ordered…

A very cool “Mad Hatter” cake!

Jen and Justin were very surprised! We all sang Happy Birthday and they blew out the candles!

Then it was time to eat! The cake was yummy! I was a little worried! If you read the cake thread on the dining board sometimes the cakes are rather dry, this wasn’t! Of course, the kids wanted ice cream too ;)

While we had our dessert Minnie arrived for our last visit of the meal!

Soon after Minnie it was time to head out and head toward MK again! I have a thing about Wishes on the last night of a trip! I don’t we’ve broken that tradition yet! I kind of feel like it’s ending the trip in a magical way!

Wishes was early that night so it was the only thing we did! We waited on Main Street for the show to start! It wasn’t long…

I don’t have any pictures, but I do have video ;)

Wishes in it's entirety!

Don’t mind that you can hear me yelling at DH ;) He was messing with my camera and he knows better! That camera is my 5th baby (behind the kiddos and Pluto, our dog)

After Wishes it was time to head back to Kidani on a very full bus! But I had a very nice talk with lady next to me who was there with her DH and 2 little ones! They were staying at Kidani on RCI points that a client of her DH’s had given them! They had also spent a few days at a condo at the beach! She was asking me all sorts of questions about DVC! She told me it was their first trip to WDW and they never thought they’d like it! Her DH and the kids had both gotten a stomach virus and were sick for a few days during the trip! This was actually the first time they had been out at night during the trip! She said that the staff at Kidani had been absolutely wonderful in helping her, the person she had spoken too at concierges desk about getting a cleaning, more towels and to point her in the direction of medical help of need be even called to check on them! She seemed very interested in a return trip to WDW and maybe DVC!

The bus was also were it started! Something I knew was destined to happen but was hoping would wait.

What was it, you may ask?

The tears!

The we’re going home tomorrow tears! I was hoping to only have we’re going home today tears but that was not in the plan!

Even in the dark of the bus I could see Jessica and Justin were both crying. Especially Jessica!

Once back at Kidani it was time to pack up!

One problem, Jen’s kiddos had bought soooooo much stuff they didn’t have enough room for it all! Even with the extra bag I had advised her to bring! Oh my!

So we headed to the gift shop to see what we could get! Luckily we were able to get a very large tote with a zipper on top with one of the Disney “spend $50 and get such and such for $15” Of course there were plenty of souvies in the shop to spend $50 on, especially with Jessica, Julianna and DD there ;)

With a bag purchased we were off to the room to finish packing! Once that was done it was off to bed to rest up for the last day!
