Magic as Wide as a smile!10/28 Trip Report Link!!!!

I can't speak for Karate but in Tae Kwon Do they teach focus and concentration. Not necessarily patience!

:rotfl:

35 degrees?

BRRRR!

Amazing that the lobby was that busy, were you there for part of Marathon Weekend? I can't recall your exact dates. I can't wait to see how you do with 9 in the room. But the important thing is...you are there and off to the parks!

...As we taxied to the gate the pilot welcomed us to Orlando and informed it was “a balmy 35 degrees with a 15 mph windy out of the southeast” UGH! Everyone on the plane moaned!

Ugh! is right! :cold:

It's great to see pictures of the studio side...

Didn't you just fall in love with all those great pillows?

You were on the Giraffe Trail; we were on the other side of the Lobby... the Red River Hog Trail!

:lmao: I think she may have learned a little over the week!

It was sooooooo cold! It wouldn't have been as bad but it was breezy and a bit damp!

It was marathon weekend, that could have had something to do with the crowd. Sat was the 1/2, Sun was the full.

We really did very well in with everyone in one room!

It was soooooo cold!

That side of the room was so pretty! I loved the netting over the bed! WE actually had a dedicated 2 bedroom so it looks a little different then a studio would. I'm pretty sure the studios have a pullout instead of 2nd bed and a kitchenette.

I didn't realize until I looked at a map the other day that the sides had names!

I just love that tile and the carving on the headboard. Can I buy those anywhere?

Brrrrr! Off to MK  !!

:lmao: I assure you that if you can buy them anywhere there like $1,000,000! They have that book of stuff you can buy, the mattress etc and it's all soooooo expensive!

It was so darn cold!

Hi Melissa.......

So glad to see you started your TR (even though I am days and days behind). Will catch up today. I hope you had a marvelous time. Can't wait to read all about it.

Glad you're here MaryEllen! New update coming today!

Uh oh...no patience at Disney is not a good thing. :rotfl2:

The room pictures are beautiful. I'm sorry your room was so far away though, that must have been tiring at the end of the day for your group.

I tell you, the no patience thing worried me, a lot!

I love Kidani sooo much! The room was beautiful and it really felt like home!

I think the walk to the room actually grew on us at the week went on! :lmao: I think because we had already walked so far a little extra didn't matter that much! I may request a room closer to the lobby next time though, especially if MIL and FIL are with us!

Off we went to MK!

First stop, Jambo House!

I must say, I felt bad for the Jambo House guests all week. In most cases half of them had to stand on the bus to the parks. I mean we gave up seat where needed and put kiddos on laps to free up more. But still, there were people standing after Jambo House almost every time!

We got to MK with lots of excitement in the air! We crossed under the railroad station and stepped out onto main street!

This was a momentous occasion! Justin, Jessica and Julianna were at WDW for the very first time! They Ohhh’d and Ahhh’d and Wow’d! I saw tears fill their eyes and watched them skip down Main Street!!

Amazing! That was what I was going for with trip! :cloud9:

There was another dose of Disney Magic because it was still Christmas!!! WOW! January 9th and it was still Christmas! Last year our trip was Jan 3rd – 12th and the decorations were down mid-week!

I like to think they left the decorations up so my other kiddos could see Christmas at WDW ;)

We strolled up Main Street stopping for a few more pictures along the way

Silly photopass CM!

We were starving so we headed for Cosmic Ray’s figuring they had a variety of stuff and we could sit inside to get out of the freezing cold!

Yeah, us and 5,000 other MK guests that day!

The seating area in CR was PACKED!!! It was after 1 by then and I had hoped we would have missed the lunch crowd. But, a lot of people were sitting have hot beverages and nothing else!

DH, BIL and some of the kids waited for tables to free up while me, Dsis, and Jessica went to get lunch!

It was then that it became apparent to me that we’d be getting our monies worth on DDP! Lunch for 10, all chicken sandwiches, fries and soda for the grownups, adult chicken nuggets for the teens and chicken nugget meals for the kiddos, cost ….

:scared::faint::crazy2:

$145!!!

Thank you CM who came up with the DDP idea! Otherwise we would have been eating out of the trash can by the end of the week!

While we were in Cosmic Ray’s we picked up a friend!

A friend of my BIL’s friends was in the area with his girlfriend visiting family! They came to MK to visit! They hadn't seen each other in several years and it was very nice to meet him! Bob and his girlfriend spent a lot of the afternoon with us and they were super nice and had a great time!

After Cosmic Ray’s it was off to ride some rides finally!!

The family decided Buzz Lightyear should be first! So, we were off in that direction! We walked on and soon saved the Galaxy from Zurg! Yea us!

Then we headed back toward Fantasyland!

Tea Cups here we come! DH, Ryan and Dsis Jen sat this one out and the rest of us took a spin!

BIL, Justin, Bob and his girlfriend spinning!

The girls spinning!

DS7 while him and I spin!

We skipped Pooh because the wait was posted as 30 minutes, not sure how true that was in hind sight.

So we headed to Dumbo!!

Dsis and DH sat this one out, while the rest of us waited maybe 5 minutes and were soon soaring high above Fantasyland!!!

A few pics while we waited...

Then it was off to IASW!

Along the way...

Not sure why I turned around

On the ride...

continued next post...

We all enjoyed a little tour around the world! Especially Ryan!! He giggled and laughed, oohhh’d and ahhh’d! He told me when we got off, “Momma! I lika tat ride!”
Then we were off to HM!!! I love HM!!!! I didn’t take any pictures! Boo!! I’m not sure why!

Then we decided that a first WDW rollercoaster ride was needed and headed toward BTMRR!

Pic along the way...

I noticed this guy keeping watch...

I figured we would get FP but the posted wait was 15 minutes! Dsis took Ryan and waited while the rest of us headed for the ride! DH felt confident that the Dramamine from the morning would keep the motion sickness away! This was a first for not only Justin, Jessica and Jule but DH and DD as well! We somehow ended up being split between 2 train loads! DH and DD road together, with me and Jessica in the car in front of them in the first load, BIL and Jule, DS7 and Justin behind them. Bob and his girlfriend (I can’t remember her name!!) ended up in the next load!

We had a blast!! The best part was that DD screamed the entire ride!!

I mean really screamed!!!

She wasn't scared, it was more of a laughing scream but it was LOUD!!! I laughed so hard my side hurt by the end!! I was truly surprised she didn’t lose her voice!

Then we headed for Adventureland for Pirates! But first a bio and hot beverage break! Hot chocolate and coffee all around!

during our break...

We walked literally right on Pirates, although I did stop to take one picture along the way!

Channeling LL ;)

Everyone loved pirates, especially Dave Jones and all the Jack Sparrows! Someone, I think Jessica, actually asked me if he was real at one point! I told her that it was up to her to decide that ;)

After POTC it was getting dark and getting even colder so we decided to head out! We were FREEZING!! Not to mention tired! We parted way with Bob and his girlfriend and headed for Main Street!

We had been planning on a counter service dinner at MK but we were feeling much better about heading back to Kidani!

We did stop in the Emporium to do some shopping! Jessica had saved over $700 for the trip! Justin and Jule around $400! DD and DS7 both had around $600 that they had saved! Jess and Jule were ready to shop!! LOL!!

I can’t remember what everyone bought but I assure you there were pins and sweatshirts involved! A lot of both of those things were purchased on this trip!

After our little shopping trip we caught the end of Move it, Shake it, Celebrate it!

Then we headed for the bus stop!

Wow! I love all the detail you're capturing in your photos... especially the Tiki Room shots! :thumbsup2 And I know what happened to you on the Haunted Mansion... happens to me all the time... you get so caught up in what you're feeling and experiencing that you forget all about photography duties!

So much fun that your BIL found a long-lost friend in the middle of the crowded park!

Mad money + the Emporium = :cloud9:

Kathy

I had requested on the 3rd floor and close to the lobby when I was at Kidani and it was a perfect location. I will definitely request that area again :thumbsup2
Isn't that just the greatest feeling taking someone to Disney and seeing their reaction
Looks like the dining plan sure worked in your favor this trip! :woohoo:
Too funny about your daughter laugh/screaming......sounds like she was having a blast!
Lovin your first day :goodvibes

Tracy

everyone looks so bundled up and cold, it's just wierd!

I love that you were happy that the xmas decorations were still up, some people whine about it. I hear you on the DDP, We would not have eaten the kind of lunches we did without it, and it was SO nice not to have to say "no you can't have a soda, or a side, or dessert!"

I can't believe how much money your kids had. I better not let mine read, they'd never be able to save up anything like that...largely because they don't really earn any :rotfl: but still, that's very impressive!

Cold weather means short lines, eh?! :thumbsup2 It's worth the shivering sometimes to experience it!

I can't believe how much money everyone had saved, that is just fantastic! And I bet they had a fantastic time blowing it all.

Loving all your pictures.....such wonderful little details!

Ahhh newbies at Magic Kingdom! I would've teared up with them for sure... love it! How lucky the Christmas decorations were still up :santa:

It's definately very odd to see hoodies, parkas and hats in WDW. What a switch from August. Coffee and hot chocolate instead of water and Crystal Light!

What loots the children had! :thumbsup2 I'm also really enjoying your photos, the different views and angles. They're great!

Wow I cant believe CR was packed. When I go it was always empty. And you are right thank god for the DDP. I cant wait to read more about your trip :-)

Thanks Kathy!!

Your right getting caught up and forgetting to take pictures!!! That wasn't the last time that happened either :rolleyes1

Tracy

I'll definitely take that advice Tracy! I'm DYING to make our reservations for December but I'm wait for SIL to tell me what she and her DH want to do! UGH! FIL has a bad back and I don't know that the llllloooonnnnggg walk down that hall would be too good for him so I'm definitely going to request something close to the lobby and note his back issues!

I loved see their reactions!!! It was so much fun!

The dining plan really worked to our advantage! More on that to come!!!

DD was too darn funny on BTMRR!! It was so much fun to hear her laughing and screaming like that!

The cold was unbelievable! It really was weird to see people so bundled up and everyone was complaining about it!

I love the christmas decorations so much! I was so glad to see them and I thought it was cool that my sisters family got to see them unexpectedly! I will admit that the christmas much was getting kind of annoying though! Really, it's Jan 13th I've heard Jingle Bells enough already!

The dining plan really worked out for us! Like I told manntra, more on that to come...

I'm always super impressed with how much my kiddos save! They never, ever spend any birthday or christmas money or any allowance they earn(They hav to actually earn it by doing what they're supposed to, I won't just give it to them!) They save it specifically for Disney! They didn't spend much in Oct so they had a lot left, then DS had his birthday and it was christmas!

My sisters kids saved so much too! Jessica had soooo much money! I reminded her we had to be able to get all the stuff home! She actually came home with a lot of $$ left! My sister took her to the outlets the day after we got home so she could buy herself a pair of Uggs!

Cold weather means short lines, eh?! :thumbsup2 It's worth the shivering sometimes to experience it!

The cold definitely had people staying inside! There really were very few people in MK! Yipppeee!!!

Everyone really saved a lot! They all did a great job! We did A LOT of shopping! "Can we go to that shop?" was constantly ringing in my ear all week :rotfl2: But it was fun!

Thanks for the complement on the pictures! Coming from you that means a lot! Your pictures are always so beautiful!

Ahhh newbies at Magic Kingdom! I would've teared up with them for sure... love it! How lucky the Christmas decorations were still up :santa:

There were lots of tearing moments during the trip! The christmas decorations only added to the magic!

I totally agree about seeing people so bundled up! It was so warm in Oct this was change!

Thanks about the pictures! I'm trying to release my inner photographer!! :lmao:

Wow I cant believe CR was packed. When I go it was always empty. And you are right thank god for the DDP. I cant wait to read more about your trip :-)

CR was insane! Even on Halloween night it wasn't that bad! Everyone needed to get warm!

DDP was such a good deal this trip! :cool1:

More to come soon!

Awesome title and great installments! I am all up to date, pics and all. On little to no sleep and, with freezing cold temps, you guys are off to a great start. Wow - everything is walk-on. Maybe there is an advantage to the cold temps! I like that the Christmas decorations are still up. Nice touch while you are freezing your "you know what" off.

Really looking forward to reading more!!!!!!
