Magic 5020 or sideways inside cabin on deck 6?

So here is why we loved our secret porthole room (5022):
  • stairwell is closeby (not too close for noise) for a quick walk to deck 4 and the awesome comfy deck chairs...when I had an inside room on deck 7 it was far less easy to get some fresh air - something I learned I really needed (especially when the family was using the bathroom)
  • porthole - I much prefer the window and brightness of the sunshine compared with an inside room...I found the inside room rather dark even when the lights were on (some folks like lack of light and enjoy the pitch black possible with an inside room)
  • close to the kids clubs for easy kid-pick-up when they wanted to stay until closing and I had to stay awake until then...
Just my thoughts...either room is on the ship!

We had an inside on the Fantasy and didn't find it too bad, but it had the magic porthole that we could turn on to see the outside, and provide some extra light. There are no magic portholes on the classic ships, right?

I would prefer the sideways inside on deck 6 (Magic or Wonder), because that type of stateroom (11B sideways on deck 6), is exactly what I pick/prefer for those ships.

I should have also mentioned that the split bath was "worth it" for myself and my three kids...the decision about the split bath has been debated on these boards before...

We are doing the secret porthole 5020 for the split bath and light. $400 is worth it for those two things I think. I really would like to get a verandah but that is over $1000 extra and we have had verandahs in the past and rarely used them.

Sideways are the best!! Wish they had them on the bigger ships...

We have stayed in the sideways room 6011 on the magic and thought it was wonderful. Great value and great room. We are booked for the Magic in January and February in room 6015 next door. We expect it to be just as good. I think the only reports on 6019 was that it was the end of the hallway and may have a bit more noise but nothing is noisy on this deck that we could see except the elevators are right there. Hope this helps!

5020 and 5520 have the least obstructed views of the six secret porthole rooms. I'm shocked one is still available.
