Hello again! I forgot to mention that I hate the boat drill but I went this time (sometimes I don't if my daughter is napping but someone from the family always goes) like a good girl. We were the 2nd to last to arrive from the station so we didn't wait too long.
We also got some cool limited edition artist choice pins at the 7:30 pin Trading. We don't trade just collect but we got the stitch and shark artist choice and chip and dale artist choice and a donald duck captain's choice. I love happy pins. Lord knows I've spent a fortune on pins in the past few years.
The ship had a fun Academy awards party in the promenade lounge just peeked in for a minute but they were doing trivia during the commercials and giving out prizes of some sort.
Monday day at sea I started to tell you about. I think I got through brunch. then the part about trying to take a nap. We then headed for high tea at 3pm. You can only schedule it during one of the two days at sea and since we had already scheduled the wine tasting Thursday at 2:30 we had to do High Tea on Monday not too long after brunch. We enjoyed it, I like fancy tea and little tiny sandwiches. Our friends were not too into it. Not many people were there and I wonder how long they will keep it up. Truly there were only about 5 tables with people. Last year there were at least 12 tables during Tea.
We attempted a nap but were foiled by the screamies as I mentioned. I will completely change subjects and tell you about a luggage issue. When our luggage was delivered I was shocked to see the handle completely torn off one of the pieces of luggage. It was not a fabric handle but a well attached heavy duty plastic one. And yes it was a disney suitcase. I bought it at the disney store and it was a nice well made rolling bag. I took the bag to GS after calling them and they decided to see if their carpenters could fix it. It took 2 days and they called me to pick up the bag. Well they had attached a makeshift not very attractive fabric handle. Nate the really nice GS attendant was apologetic and suggested that I contact onshore GS when I get home as nothing more could be done onboard. I took the bag back to my room not really thrilled but accepting the fact that my cute Mickey bag was not so cute anymore. Well when I got back to the room I opened the bag and realized that in order to "fix" the bag they and cut through the lining of the bag and put in big screws. So now the lining of the bag was hanging open with large screws poking through. Not tiny holes but large cuts in the lining that were not repaired. Lucky for me my friend and I own the same disney luggage because I got her bag and mine and took them back down to show them the damage to the inside of the bag. I also wanted them to see the really nice handle the bag used to have. Well I ended up talking to (Sonja?) a person higher up. She was very nice, took both bags and said she would take care of it and let Nate know to follow up with me. About two hours later the bags were delivered back. 3 days passed and GS (Nate) gave me a brand new bag very similiar to my bag from the gift shop. I was seriously impressed!! I never thought they would do that. I guess since they damaged my bag while fixing it they decided to give me a new one. Especially since it was a Disney rolling bag to begin with.
Back to Monday... I actually skipped the Golden Mickeys I'm sad to say but I had to get sleep at some point! When the family next door went to dinner I jumped into bed or should I say fell into bed for some sleep. I was up in time to get dressed up get the kids dressed and we all had a nice picture with the captain (Captain Tom) during the very end of the Captain's Welcome Reception. Dinner was at Lumieres with all the children, my dd age 4(she was in the 5-7s though) and ds age 8 almost 9 and our friend's dd age 10. Escargot MY FAVORITE was on the menu. I ordered 2 plates and our waiter gave me a weird look. He was very disapproving at times. I can't understand his behavior. Our friends were very disappointed as it was their first 7 day cruise. They have taken a 4 day before and had fabulous service on the wonder. Dinner ended about 10:30 and by then the children had to get in bed! I went up to the computer with my friend but we were all in bed by midnight.
We had to get up early for our Stingray excursion in Grand Cayman! We were disappointed not to get an afternoon time but were happy when we realized that all the afternoon excursions were cancelled due to high winds. Even departure was moved up to 3pm. We watched the last shuttle trying to attach to the ship below our stateroom Boy those folks had a wild ride. They had to detach and retry twice and the boat was just banging against the side of the ship! IT was scary. Okay more on the excursion later!!
