I just bought a new tent this morning because it was on clearance for $99 and they only had 2 left. I'm gonna do a backyard runthrough later this week, but was wondering if anyone has one of these and if they consider it to be a good tent before I even take it out of the box. If its a piece of garbage, I'd rather not set it up and bring it back to get a better one.

One mans garbage is another mans,,,,future garbage,,
I'm sure people that tent camp allot would disagree but aren't tents like golf balls,,,no I don't mean round white and dimply,,
Most of the time, a beginner is not going to know the difference from a .50 golf ball and a $4.00 golf ball by look or performance.
I only guess that you would be a beginning tent camper because your asking if you have a .50 ball or $4.00 ball. I think I would have to be awfully serious before I bought a $4.00 ball.
While I don't get to tent camp anymore, I do still have a tent and I only had Three requirements,,,Dry, big enough to move around and tall enough to stand up and change.
Beyond that, I know less than nothing about tents,,,
We wanted weather resistant, durable, and easily set up so we bought a fifth wheel.
This post may not be any help but, it was fun to write,
