Magazine Subscription Gripes!

I subscribe to several different magazines. Started with a couple because they had can't-refuse-type-subscription offers. They must have passed my name on to other magazines, as I've now ended up with about a dozen subscriptions.

What is annoying is practically with the very first issue they send along a "renewal" notice. Now I've already subscribed for two years, I don't want to renew until that amount of time is almost up. Why they send them so early, I don't understand. :confused3

And for goodness sakes, stop sticking half a dozen loose subscription cards in each issue! I'm already a subscriber, I don't want the cards! Why can't they have separate systems for magazines that are going to newsstands (put cards in those) and ones that are being sent to subscribers? That would make sense to me. It seems such a waste to send all those cards to people who already subscribe. :confused3

I know, I know in the grand scheme of things this is no big deal but just something I consider annoying. :)

Are most magazines available for viewing online now? Years ago I used to sell magazines, they just dont stop. It so ridiculous. Thats why I dont subscribe. Jo

They send out the renew subscriptions so early because their ads are sold based on circulation. If they get you to extend yours you can be counted in that circulation number much longer.
