Maelstrom, age or height requirement?

I read somewhere, either one of the planning books, or online, that there is a minimum age of 3 for Maelstrom, but the disneyworld website does not mention this. Does anyone know if there is a minimum age or height requirement for this ride? Thanks!

I don't think there is a requirement. We took our DS2 on it in July and he was fine.

I don't think there is a hard "under three" rule, but I BELIEVE children are required to sit in the seat by themselves and are not allowed to ride on laps. That's probably where "under three" came in.

Thanks! DD will be 2.5 yrs so I was hoping she'd be fine to go on it.

My DD went on it last year. She had just turned 2 and was only 35" at the time. She loved it.
