"Made With Magic" Coming To Epcot

What it means is that the item's lights are synced to the show (Illuminations) and will change in tandem with the music or events currently happening. It looks really cool when there are a LOT of them, but when they are sparse they make no difference.

Thanks-I just didn't think "key moments around World Showcase" and ROE sounded like the same thing.:)

I take it as meaning "key moments during the show around World Showcase." Unless they are planning something new, that's how they work.

I'm assuming the items from Disneyland will work at Disney World? We have a few paint brushes from when Paint the Night debuted in May and I'd like to bring it with us.

Yes they do as they are all the same products.

I wonder if at night they will change to the countries colors while ROE is not going on. That would be super cool and justify the key moments around World Showcase.

I hope they change all light up stuff to the MWM tech eventually. I see the light up swords all the time and those would make it much easier on the eyes during dark shows like Fantasmic and Reflections of Earth if they also light up in appropriate ways to the on going show.

So this will be like the Glow with the Show ears that were a bust. You'll see a person here and there with one, but nowhere near enough to look cool and really do what Disney envisioned.

Yeah, the "Made with Magic" is like Glow with he Show 2.0. One key difference is that the devices can interact with one another and with in-show elements. As far as I know this is only used at Disneyland's new Paint the Night parade, which used Made with Magic paint brushes to change the colors on passing floats. I'm not really sure how it all works as I refuse to watch videos of PtN until I get there to see it in person (no spoilers!), haha!

The Made with Magic stuff at Disneyland doesn't change the paint the night floats. That only happens in Tokyo. The paint brush and wand can change near by made witih magic stuff though. I saw some teens and a CM playing "tag" with them while we were there and thought it was so cool.

Oh, I didn't know that. I think PtN is actually from Hong Kong, but I had assumed the DL version had all the same features.

Oh yeah you are right about Hong Kong. Yes their PTN changes but ours doesn't. In the blog post blogger Steven responded they don't allow interaction with the parade itself like in HK but there is a mommy blogger who claims they changed the color of some dancers outfits. I am more likely to believe the official blogger over someone who may have perceived what they did as what happened.

Interesting. I really haven't looked at too much info about PtN as I want to see it in person with no preconceived notions. I hear it's fabulous though!

If these items interact with each other or other decor around the park, I could see them catching on a bit more. I thought glow with the show were dumb because:
1) it would take quite a few to make an interesting effect and they didn't sell "quite a few"
2) reportedly, the headband ears were heavy and uncomfortable. Looks like the new styles may correct this one.
3) they ran around $20-$25, I think, and the purchaser isn't the one who sees the effect! You pay the money, but people around you are the ones who see the magic. If they have additional interactive features, maybe the buyer actually gets more out of them

The wand and paint brush that have been around for a few months now both have an interactive feature. All made with magic is 25 now. I only got the ears because I really liked the idea but I wore them that night and never again. You have to be exactly in the right spots on the hub for it to work. I was in a dead zone so my ears never worked. I was upset I spent then 20 on these heavy ears that didn't do anything. Now I have the paintbrush and still like going around changing the color of other's ears!
