Just wanted to show y'all an image I cut on the Cricut using SCAL. I used Prototype 25 dingbats. I am really loving this thing!! It almost eliminates the need to buy new font carts!!

Love your Mickey. Did you use Design Studio? And is Sure Cuts Alot a cartridge? I've never heard of or seen that one?!

Sure Cuts a Lot is a "third party" software program that allows you to cut using any TrueType Font (.ttf file extension), including dingbat fonts.

Did you have to upgrade your Cricut to 1.1 or 1.2 (can't remember) and if so how did you?

BTW love the global Mickey!!!!

OMG i love it!!!!!
thanks for sharing it with us.

Yes, I had to upgrade (1.1 for the small bug). The only way to do it is from the Cricut Design Studio Trial. I have the trial downloaded on my dh's PC so al you have to do is connect your Cricut to the computer with the Design Studio trial and when you run the design studio trial and detects that it needs to upgrade the machine and will prompt you with what to do.

where did you get the font?

Rebecca

I got the font from site on another thread posted a few days ago.

Ooh. I love it! This will definitely be something I look into in the future. Can you weld words with the software?

Yes, you can weld and you can also cut shadow and blackout versions of the true type fonts!

I did some titles for the MK swap using this. I was making a title for frontierland so I found some free western style fonts and then I welded the letters together. It came out pretty cool! I will scan that to show you if you would like.

I'd love to see that! Of course, that'll probably lead to me getting it immediately. I have no willpower.

Here ya go! I didn't realize that global Mickey had gotten stuck to the lid of my scanner so you can see it peeking through under the topper:confused3

Can you use the SCA with the regular Cricut or do you need the Cricut Expressions???

Sorry....new to all this.

If I understand this correctly we need to make sure our bug is upgraded to 1.1 using the Design Studios Trial

Then we need the Sure Cuts A lot program.

My DH found me the correct cord to connect the Cricut to the computer.

I can't try this now I have to go somewhere. I hope to play with it later. Maybe I can make something for the Magic Kingdom swap. I sure hope it works with my MAC!

THanks for sharing, your stuff is cute! I love them both.
