Those are my two go to lenses and probably spend even time on my camera. This winter the 50 is on inside most but during the summer I have no issues using the 24-70. (Don't be afraid to pump up that ISO!) They were perfect for
Disneyland a couple weeks ago. I did some handheld night shots with no problem at all. I love the "scenic" feel of the 24 end at Disney, it just gave my pics a little more somethin' somethin'. I had to fairly wrestle it away from two Photo Pass guys who actually knew what they were holding. The one later passed me as I was shooting the parade and asked when I was going to give him "his camera" back.

eta: The D700 and 24-70 is a heavy combo. I used a LowePro Sport 200 back pack to haul it around. Super easy to swing around and pull my camera out.
