Hi, my family and I will be going to Disney this June and I was lucky enough today to get 2 reservations at different restaurants. I was wondering if these 2 restaurants are worth keeping:
1. Liberty Tree Tavern (MK)
2. Rainforest Cafe (AK)

We have Liberty Tree Tavern for the 19th which is Father's Day at 3 and want to go to a restaurant to celebrate the day with DH, is it worth it, good food? We have never been and if we do keep it would it be a good Father's Day experince. Also, if we did cut it would Fulton's Crab House be a good choice instead. Oh and EM is pm at MK so would it be better to just stay at MK and not travel all the way to DTD?

Then for Rainforest Cafe we have it on the 23rd our last day, which we weren't really planning on being in AK at around 3, should we cancel since we won't be over there? Any help/advice is greatly appreciated! Thank you so much!:goodvibes

I can't help you with the Rainforest Cafe in AK but Liberty Tree Tavern is the best! We go there every time.

LTT was the one place my 15 year old asked to go back to this year. We all enjoyed it. (do not ride splash mountain first - I was WET and it made for an uncomfortable dining experience)

I wouldn't go to Rainforest just to eat if you aren't planning to be at AK. Other places to eat. Where will you be on your last day?

I would keep both of them and decide when it gets closer or possibly day of. But of the two I would keep LTT. I haven't ate at LTT myself but I don't enjoy Rainforest that much. It's a large chain resturant and they have them all over. It might be worth it if you don't have one in your town.

Personally, I would dump both. Liberty Tree did not impress us all that much at either lunch or dinner - I would consider it an OK place to get a meal inside, air cond. if I absolutely could not leave MK for some reason. But as a special place to celebrate...or for really good food: no, not LTT. It's alright. Just alright.

If you want a meal to celebrate, I'd get some fastpasses to use when you return for the evening EMH before leaving the park around 4:30-4:45 or so, and I'd hop the resort monorail from Magic Kingdom and go eat at Kona Cafe at The Polynesian...or Grand Floridian Cafe at the Grand Floridian...or The Wave at The Contemporary. Better food, not as hectic as LTT and will give you a nice break from park, but without transportation hassles of going to another park or DTD. None of these places are fancy-schmancy, so park attire is OK.

If you want to splurge on "signature" dining, Citricos at Grand Floridian is also a nice monorail ride away (would be better than going to Fulton's at DTD) Would recommend wearing shirts with collars (like nice golf shirts) and nicer shorts (not jeans, not gym shorts) if you decide to go to Citricos for a really special meal.

As for Rainforest...do you have little ones with you? Reason I ask is we found Rainforest just annoying as adults. Bar-type food, not worth the $$ unless you're going for the decor. If you are just wanting the decor, and really didn't want to go to AK area, why not just go to the Rainforest Cafe over at DTD. At least there's shopping in the area.

I would definitely keep your LTT ADR. We love eating there every trip. I think it would be great as a family celebration for Fathers Day. However, if you want to celebrate in a (slightly) quieter place, you could try a monorail restaurant. Problem is right now (fairly close to your dates) it might be hard to get availability.

If you are not going to be in the AKL area, I would cancel your Rainforest ADR and look for something closer to where you plan to spend the day. Not sure how many are in your group, but I just checked June 23, dinner, 4 guests and they showed 65 available tables at various places all over WDW.

If you do change your ADRs, do it soon while you still can.
Good luck:wizard:

I would pick different restaurants. You can still get some great restaurants! I have never been to LTT but it doesn't impress me so I dont want to eat there. Rainforest Cafe is honestly a cool experience but the food is not good at all and it isn't Disney. You could find those all other. I would def pick something else besides Rainforest unless you know you will never get to go to another one.

We don't like RFC. Haven't tried the one at AK, but we've been to a few different ones and they are all the same (DTD, Las Vegas and one that used to be near our house in NY).
