For April 2-7...I have to call back tomorrow though and get them to give me the AAA rate instead--I forgot to request it and heck, it saves me $20 a night! My kids are so going to flip their lid--they really want to stay here. I am only hoping that it is better than some of the trip reports I have read. They did tell me the pools would be heated (whew) and that kids do eat free--breakfast, lunch and dinner. Not so on Character breakfast, but that is fine. So--here we come! :rotfl:

Hi,
You will love this Hotel. Well I can promise your kids will. On other sites the reports are much better.
We had such a great time and at chrismas we were all together again and that's all we talked about. The kids want to go back. I plan on planning another trip in two years. I asked if they wanted to do a cruise again ( we have done Disney Magic) just this time do a different line. They want to go back to Nick. They loved it. but we went the first week of Dec. and it wasn't crowed at all. They did have the run of the place.
In april it will be a lot more crowded but I'm sure you will love it.......

We are going to this hotel also in Nov. 06, and I would be interested in reading some of the other reviews. What are the other sites that have reports on this hotel? Thanks.

We stayed there the year before it changed to Nick and we like it. I liked the outdoor corridors and the pools were great even before they added the new features. The rooms were clean and it was a nice size for the 4 of us. My kids loved the swivel chair in the living room. My dd2 said that it was her favorite ride. :goodvibes The only negative thing is that the food was horrible :scared: and I am pretty easy to please. I have read in other reports that the food is still awful. The fast food in the lobby was fine. We grabbed cereal and bagels in the morning and brought it back to the room because it was a mad house in the morning. You will enjoy yourself just eat elsewhere or buy breakfast food and snacks and keep it in the room. The kitchen is probably 5 ft long and the fridge is a large dorm fridge.

For anyone going..I just called Nick Hotel back and got a BETTER rate... It started off at $249 a night, and now is going to cost me $200 a night. It is the 20% off Flex Rate...limited quantities...Mousesavers saves you 5%, AAA 10%...I am going to continue watching to try and get the price even lower, but I am thrilled to have saved almost $50 a night!

I just called Nick hotel to see if they could apply the 20% flex rate to my reservation, and they said that the promotion is only good for 5 nights, and my reservation is only for 3 nights and I wouldn't qualify. The best rate they could give me now is 15% off.

We stayed there in November, and it was the highlight of our trip. We had a fabulous time (yes, even me and dad), and would not hesitate to go back, and of course the kids want to go back. Have fun!

SO, you enjoyed your stay in November? What type of room did you stay in? Do you have any pics you would be willing to share? I will PM you my email addy if you do!
The flex discount--sorry, should've put it--it is 15% for 3 nights 20% for 5 nights and 25% for 7 nights. I apologize! I was so excited over getting the discount I was not thinking straight! Anyway, if anyone else sees a better deal, please post it!

Hi,
I'm not sure how to get the sites to you. so I went there and copied and pasted some of the reviews. Maybe you can figure it out from reading them.

We recently stayed at this hotel, arriving by car on a "surprise" trip with our children. Our visit was the stuff of children's dreams, and that means as parents we were excited as well. Checking-in early, the front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. In fact, all the staff we encountered went out of their way to help and were very courteous. The kids were absolutely thrilled with the pool and room decor. The pools are heated, which was essential given the cold weather when we visited. Our Sponge-Bob suite was well outfitted, with refridgerator, microwave, PS-2, free high-speed internet access, USA Today each a.m., and 3 televisions! My daughter even got a happy birthday phone call from Sponge-Bob. There was a good variety of complimentary poolside and indoor activities throughout the day, including strolling characters in early afternoon and plenty of slime-time! We dined at the buffets and freestanding restaurants and found the prices reasonable considering kids eat free, especially compared to dining options at surrounding theme-parks. We felt that this hotel represented good value and did not nickle-and-dime you. We would definitely return.

Pros: Shows were pretty good. Our youngest daughter was selected to go on stage for one show and enjoyed it. The shuttle to/from Universal Studios worked well. There was
sufficient room in the 2 BR suite for 2 adults and 3 kids. We asked for and got a room overlooking the lagoon- quiet yet close to the main pool and activities.
Room was clean. Staff was courteous and upbeat without being annoying. We stayed away from the food.

Cons: Our king-size bed had either a worn out mattress or a thin one- could feel springs through it. Made sleeping a bit difficult but not too bad for us. The two girls though said the bunk beds were rock hard and slept poorly. Pull-out in front room was nice though). We had a few glitches like when we called for extra towels/TP and no one came for 45 minutes. But upon calling again they apologized and brought them promptly.

My husband and I took our two children, ages 4 and 6, to Orlando and stayed at the Nick Hotel for 7 nights, November 19-26, 2005. The kids were so excited to stay at this hotel, but I was a little apprehensive after reading some of the reviews. There are definitely pros and cons to this resort.
PROS: We pulled up to the front doors and were greeted by Squidward! What a hoot! The pool areas were fantastic. The kids loved the waterslides (although the water was freezing in the slide area…heated in the pool area.) The kids also liked playing basketball, shuffleboard, ping pong and billiards, which were all free for us to use. The shows in the pool areas were fun, too. One night the hotel played TV shows on a huge screen in the pool area. There were kids lounging on all of the pool chairs watching TV. It was a blast. The rooms were very comfortable. The kids’ room had only a curtain for a door, but still provided them with their own space. Video game rentals were $5 each. The bedroom had a king bed that was a little too firm. We had a pool view room but rarely heard much noise. The living area had a sofa sleeper, table and two chairs, microwave, sink and refrigerator, plus some cupboard space. It just perfect for what we needed. The bathroom had a great shower with lots of hot water and terrific water pressure. The hotel had a food court, small convenience shop, Nick Merchandise store, arcade, lounge and several other Nick-things-to-do desks. We were given a schedule of events for the week which outlined pool and restaurant hours, Nick activities, etc. This was convenient and appreciated. The hotel itself is in an excellent location. We had a rental car and found that getting to and from the Disney parks was very, very convenient. Parking at the hotel was always ample. Having guest laundry available was nice.
CONS: It took almost an hour to check in! I was quoted one rate when I made my reservation, but was given a new rate that was $33 per night higher when I checked in. I had to wait for that to be adjusted. Then the credit card machine didn’t work, so the front desk employee had to call the credit card company for the approval code. Then there were problems with getting the room key programmed. Also, know that they charge an additional $25 per night for a Spongebob themed room. This hotel is HUGE. Getting from the parking lot to the room (number 1133…building 11, floor 3, room 3) took forever and we often chose the stairs rather than waiting for the elevator. Getting from our room to the lobby or mall area took some pretty fancy navigation, too. By the end of our trip I was finally getting around without making wrong turns and I’m usually pretty good with directions! We had tiny ants in our room on the sinks and countertops. When the TV remote worked, the TV was fuzzy, when the TV was clear, the remote didn’t work…had to do with something being plugged in? Whatever. The buffet food was terrible. We did the Character Breakfast, which had much better food than the regular buffet, but was still way over priced in my opinion. Dora, Cosmo, Wanda, and Patrick wandered around the dining room in shifts. Spongebob made an appearance in a special corner where photos could be taken.
OVERALL: The kids obviously loved this hotel. I appreciated the rooms and the pools for the kids. We stayed at the Nick Hotel because this trip was all about the kids. For them, it was perfect. Because I work in the travel industry, I got a great room rate, but I would never pay their going rate to stay here again.

23-26 November 2005: Me along with my girlfriend and her son, stayed here over the Thanksgiving weekend. We had a terrific time and enjoyed our stay. This hotel is in close proximity to all attractions, shopping malls and highway access. They had buses that go to the theme parks. You will not have to drive far for anything. For our room, we had a junior kid suite which was outstanding. The kids bedroom had a Playstation 2, one less thing you have to carry. Also, I enjoyed the free high-speed internet access, that was a plus. I recommend attending the character breakfast (which included Spongebob, Dora, etc...). We loved it. If you don't want to do that, they have an awesome buffet breakfast which had low prices and delicious foods. Bottom line, I highly recommend this hotel. A great atomsphere for children. We will definitely come back to this hotel on our next visit to Orlando.

OK so its not a 5* hotel and doesn't claim to be, I have been watching the reviews of the hotel for about a year since I booked and like many others I was a little worried about what we would find.

I had no reason, we had three kids 11,7,6 in a 2 bedroom kidsuite and whilst it was a squeeze it was much better than spending 2 weeks in a hotel room !

We had a few issues with our room on arrival but these were sorted out quickly with little fuss.

If you love your kids take them here, they will love you for it.

I just hope that the reviews scare away the moaners because I'd hate to bump into them next time I go !

Thank you so much for posting those for us! I am a bit frightened, but my kids are dying to go here. After a much stressful few months for us all, we all are in need of a break. We already have Universal tickets--so the only expense is hotel and food. I will be sure to report back after we get back in April...I really AM excited.

I just booked for two nights and it was an average of 169.00 a night for the two room suite. I got the rate over the intenet and than phoned them direct to make my ressie. The only catch was I had to pay for it when I booked it.

We have stayed at this hotel 3 times prior to it becoming Nickolodeon and we LOVED it.

Will they let you use more than one discount? Like the Best Flex discount and Mousesavers??

And, online it shows 2 different room rates. Anyone know the difference btwn Advance Room Rate and Best Flexible rate? The ARR would cost us $293/night and the other shows a rate of $325/night! Yikes! Would the 20% off apply to the Advanced Room Rate??

We aren't going until Nov. 06, and the cheapest rate we got for then was $255 a night.
