Made offer on SSR Today!

After a few years of debating & looking over this site I finally decided to make an offer today on SSR. They didn't think I would hear anything back until Tuesday because of the holiday but I'm keeping my fingers crossed they accept it.

I have to say this site has been the best & so helpful. I don't think I would have ever got to this point without all the helpful information, especially the list going with what everyone has paid & if it passed Disney. I actually just found that last night just in time.

Thanks again everyone for all your help. Keep your fingers crossed for me.

Congratulations! The waiting is the worst part of this process! Hopefully your wait won't be to long as they seem to have sped up the ROFR process! I made my offer on April 6 and am now waiting to hear that we closed. I sent my closing docs on May 12 but they are still waiting to receive the sellers docs! The wait "kills" me. I just want to be "official"!

Congrats on taking the first step! We have 4 contracts (2 SSR, 1 OKW, and 1 VB), and they all took about 2 months from offer to being in Dis's system. The process, regardless who you purchase from, is pretty much the same and so much depends on how quickly the buyers and sellers sign and return documents. The other piece is how long Dis takes on ROFR. Recently, they were taking the full 30 days, because they had moved buildings. All four of our contracts took 14 days.

I wish you the best of luck, and hope everything goes smoothly! However, if it doesn't, don't be discouraged and definitely try again. I recently walked away from a VB contact, because the sellers were dragging their feet sending in their paperwork. I had no problems on my other contracts.

ROFR is Disney's Right of First Refusal. All resale contracts go to Disney and they have the right to buy it from the seller for the same terms as the buyer. So, if they exercise ROFR, the contract still gets sold (great for the seller) but the buyer is out of luck. There deposit is returned and they have to start the process of buying all over again.

To try and keep the value of the property intact. Although it seems pretty hard to do with the state of the economy right now. Resales seem to be extremely cheap.
