I made our reservations for October 2nd -11th. I got a Preferred site and requested 100 loop, because I don't have a pet (that I am bringing) and I was thinking it would be nice to be close to the beach/marina/restaurants etc. That was a couple of weeks ago. Today I am having second thoughts though. I am thinking that maybe I should upgrade to a Premium site and request a loop close to the pool/campfire program. We have 6 children ages 14, 12, 10, 7, 3, and 2. We aren't bringing bikes, because that would just be way too many bikes! lol! We aren't planning on renting a golf cart, because we would have to rent 2 and that would eat up all of our vacation $$. My kids are all really excited about the big pool and the campfire program/movie each night. I'm worried about how much walking is going to be involved. I don't mind walking the parks all day, but by the time we get "home" late afternoon, I'm pooped and I don't think I am going to want to walk half a mile to the pool. I would LOVE:love: if I could hear some pros and cons of site location from some of you who have actually been there. Am I making too big of a deal out of this?? lol! Also, I don't think we will even eat at the Fort Wilderness restaurants more than once or twice. We will either eat in our RV or in the parks. Thanks for your help!!!:)

Well, if you are in the 100 loop, you can get right on the boat to the MK or be right at the Settlement Trading Post and Trails End. If you are near the Meadows area, you are going to have to catch a bus when you go the parks. If you are in the 100 loop, you will have to catch a bus to the pool. To me, it is six of one, half a dozen of another. Personally, I would stick with the Loop 100. However, since either is only a request, I would probably fax in a loop request specifying that if you couldn't get your first choice, your second choice would be the other, whichever way you decide to go.

I think it all depends on the parks you choose to visit too. If you are only going to MK then stick with preferred and use the FW bus to get to the pool/campfire. Keep in mind the preferred sites are all by the Settlement area.

If you plan on visiting the other parks I would go with premium to be closer to the pool/campfire if you are going to those daily.

We stayed in 900 Loop last trip which was right across from the Meadows area and Pool. It is a Preminum and was nice. The kids will be wanting to use the pool alot. Disney's Pols in the past have asked what the kids remember most about their Disney and guess what, the pools...

Thanks for the help! I did call and change our reservations to a premium site and requested 1400 loop, close to the pool/campfire program. I'm thinking that we may end up driving to the parks each day rather than taking the buses. And, we are only going to MK one day of our 9 day vacation. The other thing that was worrying me was the sand at the campsite. I don't want to have to deal with sand all in my bed if I don't have to.:rotfl2: Thanks again!:)

Just got back from the Fort on 5/8 and had site 1116, large site and no sand. Was able to put a 35ft MH and Jeep Commander on the site with out angleing the jeep. Straight in for both. BIG site!
