Cool idea!
On the subject of making my own, I just made my own concealed travel wallet that I can wear discreetly under my clothes. I had found "real" ones online, but can't get them shipped to Barbados. I was going from store to store in a futile attempt to find one locally. After watching my frustration, DD10 (who's very creative) says, "Mom - why don't you just make one!"
I have to admit - it was one of those real "DUH" moments. A DIY solution never crossed my mind! But I'm glad to see that DD has actually learned some of my cheapskate,use-what-you-have-lessons.
So I cut the adjustable strap off an old game boy carrying case and attached it to a velcro wallet I had retired because it was too big to fit most of my pockets! Turns out that it can hold my passport, cash and credit cards comfortably! I just have to add a bit of Velcro so that I can "seal" the section that will contain my passport.
It took me under 10 minutes to complete the project. And I spent no money! Yeah - the $15 saved means more cash for the Disney fund!!
Forgot to add that I found a traveller's cheque for US $100 in the same retired wallet - so I'm actually $115 ahead of the game!!!
