I set my alarm this morning, started dialing on two phones at 6:56 AM, got right through, and booked... (drum roll, please!)

A Fantasmic dinner package at the very lucrative time of 4:30 in the afternoon! :rotfl:

I know, I know. It could have waited until tomorrow. But this was the first day in my 90 day window that I actually needed an ADR for something so I thought I would use the opportunity to hone my dialing skills. Tomorrow will be the big, important, scary day! :earseek:

Congrats! 4:30 doesn't sound too bad at all! Did they have any times later than that? Did you have to pre-pay for the ressie?

4:30 was the latest they had! My other choice was 4:00! Since I am CERTAIN I was the only one calling I'm pretty sure that was the latest they had. Which isn't nearly as late as I wanted but it IS amusing! I had to hold it with a credit card but they don't charge unless you fail to show up.

When we went in January I didn't know they would release later times closer to the day of the show. Now (from the DIS!) I know to call back about 3 weeks before our trip to get something later. We might not even really NEED the reserved seats depending on crowds, but I have a bad back and those bleachers aren't the most comfy seats I have found so we decided to go with the package. :)

Hi Jack! I also made an ADR ofr the FDP at my 90 day window...I am going Wed, Oct 12th. And I got the incredible ADR time of.....

drumroll please

3:50 pm!!!!

I am also going to call back, starting in August, and see if I can get a better time. I guess it depends on what time Fantasmic starts in Oct. Does anyone know? Is it 7 or 8 pm?

I am thinking it might be 8 PM based on historical hours and the fact that Daylight Savings Time doesn't end until Oct. 30. It might be dark at 7 PM, but in my notes I have it estimated at 8 PM.

The last time we went to MGM we had a really odd PS time for Sci-Fi and we ended up just eating dessert because we ate lunch at Pizza Planet at 2:30 and we weren't hungry. I think Fantasmic was at 7:00 (maybe) and we were back at the resort by about 9:00 and got chicken strips at the food court.

Hopefully we can change to something around 6 PM. If not I guess we will do some creative meal planning and eat at 4:30! :rotfl:

pirate: When we made our ADR for October, the CM told me that they will have later times when the park hours for October are released.

If you want a later Fantasmic package.....keep what you have and call back about 30 days out. The past two years we called at 90 days out and got really early seatings. Closer to the actual vacation time, they released some later times and we changed ours to around 6ish.

Also, if you are staying on site, make sure to check out mousesavers.com for the info on the new ADR changes that start tomorrow. I thought I'd have to get up early every morning this week and call since we're at our 90 days today...but thanks to the new changes I can plan my entire week with Disney Dining tomorrow.

Atotty -

Thanks!

I learned about the later Fantasmic times here on the boards. I will call back probably mid-September and see if I can move to a later time.

I have been following several threads about the changes to ADR's, and I have called Disney three times about it, too!

DH and I will be up before dawn tomorrow calling, and hopefully we'll have it all squared away before I have to leave for work. Maybe I better make a cheat sheet for DH in case we get through on the house phone and I have to leave while we are still on hold. If we get through on one of the cells I can just take it with me. No flames for driving with the phone - I know all about it.

I'm a little irritated that they decided to implement this right smack in my 90 day window. If I wasn't worried that I might not get some of the things I want then it wouldn't bother me. One call would be fine. But with one dinner and one lunch ressie that I'm worried might book up the new plan is generating more stress than joy!

I actually got lucky with the new ADR change...today was the beginning of our 90 day window. I made Ohana's. Now tomorrow I can do the rest of the entire week instead of getting up every morning for the next 6 days (we're at the beach...I'd like to sleep in :flower:

I'm glad they did this for our dates...because by the time they announced the AP Best Rate program it was too late to take advantage of it for my dates......by one day :(

I just don't know if I am happy or not!

When I realized that I would have to prioritize our ADR requests knowing full well that the second or third thing we ask for may be all gone I started to think I'm not very pleased. With the old way I would have had to get up early for 8 days in a row but it would have been worth it. Now if we can't get what we want tomorrow I guess we will be calling back every day after that so we have a shot at the tables they release each consecutive day. Which isn't any different than it is now, just more confusing and more difficult to get the times and places we want!

I'll absolutely be posting tomorrow - either after I get off the phone with Dining before I go to work or later tomorrow afternoon if I have to go to work with the phone in my hand.
