Last night my family and I went and saw Cirque Du Soleil - Quidam in Rockford, IL. Quidam is a traveling Cirque show. Our seats were in the second row center stage.
Quidam has many elements similar to the La Noube show at WDW, but the story line is different and they have those European clown/mimes that get people to do funny things. The same type of things that John and Kevin have seen happen while on their vacations in Europe. Of course I was terrified I'd end up getting picked.
Guess who got picked? Yuuuup, I was brought up on stage to play the big director in the filming of a jilted love scene. He had already picked 3 people and figured I was safe, until he turned to the audience, grabbed his belly, and was looking for a fat guy. Yuuuup, that's me.
Lucky for me, they didn't make us do half the things that John and Kevin described in their travels. And it was really funny, I was laughing uncontrollably up on stage. The clown/mime got me to scratch my groin in front of everybody, and then play it off like I was just supposed to be scratching my belly.
Somehow, I seem to always get picked for these things. It's OK though, I was commenting at the intermission that I thought it would be cool to work as a Cirque clown, and lo and behold I got my wish.
