I have made my ADR's for our September trip :cool1:
This year our kids are not insisting we eat at a bunch of character meals so it has left it more open for us to try some new things.
I have a few restaurants that we have never eaten at before on my list and I need help with what is good....
#1 Le Cellier (soooo excited about this one.)

#2 Boatwrights (just because it is easy and the night I scheduled it we needed easy)

#3 Capn Jacks

#4 Sci Fi

#5 Ohana (dinner)

Thanks for your help!

#1 Le Cellier (soooo excited about this one.) definitely the Ceddar Cheese Soup (and dunk the pretzel bread in it), the mushroom filet and the cheddar chese mashed potatos

#2 Boatwrights (just because it is easy and the night I scheduled it we needed easy) sorry...can't help here...we didn't care for our meal at all and I had to send my steak back twice

#3 Capn Jacksnever done

#4 Sci Fi we went for lunch; you MUST have the onion rings -- out of this world; DH had the reuben and said it was the best reuben he had ever had

#5 Ohana (dinner) never done

Thanks for your help!

#1 Le Cellier (soooo excited about this one.) Cheddar cheese soup, prime rib, maple creme brulee

#2 Boatwrights (just because it is easy and the night I scheduled it we needed easy) Breakfast was the only meal we've had here, and sadly they don't do breakfast anymore.

#3 Capn Jacks never been

#4 Sci Fi burger, fries, milkshake

#5 Ohana (dinner) It's a fixed menu so you don't have to order anything

Thanks for your help!

I replied in red.

We have only eaten at two of these ('Ohana and Le Cellier) and of these only Le Cellier requires that you order. 'Ohana is Family Style as your "cousins" bring the food to your table and you can eat as much or as little of each item as you desire. For Le Cellier I would recommend the Cheddar Cheese Soup, Mushroom Filet and Maple Creme Brule.

In Sept we had ribs at SciFi and they were delicious.

Haven't eaten at Capt Jack's in 20 years since it was horribly overpriced with tiny portions.

Ohana is all good!

The only place I've eaten at is Cap'n Jacks. I've had the roasted chicken and the beef pot roast. I thought they were both great! My dad had the shirmp and penne pasta and liked that a lot.

There isn't a choice at Ohana. As stated above the dinner is served family style and they only serve that meal.
You can look at the online menus to see everything but it is basically:
Pineapple bread, brocolli, a polynisian noodle dish, pot stickers, sticky wings with 3 sauces and the meats are skewers of turkey, pork, shrimp (not peeled or de veined) and beef. Oh and there is a salad served with a wonderful citrus dressing. Dessert is best of any WDW restaurant, bread pudding.
You can eat as much as you want of any and all things. (but remember to save lots of room for dessert).

At Le Cellier I hear the filet is good, but I had the prime rib. Everyone including the waitress tried to talk me out of it, but I am so glad I stuck to my choice........it was FABULOUS!!!! It is was very tender, I could cut it with a fork. Very tasty, not spiced or rubbed with anything, just the natural flavor of the meat enhanced by salt.
DH had the Strip steak. He loved it. I tasted it and yes it was good, but mine blew his away. lol

At Sci Fi, I had the chicken sandwich. It was good, nothing special. Basically a grilled chick sand., the fries were plain ole' fries. DH had the burger, it was pretty good but again just a burger. The onion rings were good, but again nothing that special.
That is all we had there.

Good luck and have fun, there are so many choices, stick to what you like most the time and only go "adventure" once or twice, that is my philosophy anyway. ;)

I am getting more and more excited about Le Cellier! Thanks for the suggestions. I had a feeling Boatwrights wasn't going to be a great choice but the night I planned it we needed something really easy. The only other option was eating in the counter service area at POR and my DH hates that kind of food. I many have to rethink the Boatwrights thing.

if you had to choose between France or United Kingdom for counter service which would it be? and what would it be? Thanks!

At LeCellier, we like the cheese soup, but we LOVE the Prince Edward Island Muscles appy, the mushroom filet, and the maple creme brulee. So yummy!

Love the fish and chips at the counter service in United Kingdom. Have never done France so can't help there.

Boatwright's is overpriced for being a moderate. For an entree, you get a meat and a potato; that's it. No salad, no veg, no nothing. I would take the water taxi down to DTD and go somewhere else.

Captain Jack's is also another one that I would think twice about. Food is pretty blah....

Sci-fi is a burger and fry joint, but love their milkshakes - it is all about the atmosphere.

LeCellier is wonderful......love the atmosphere, the food, etc.

Never been to Ohana; but hear good things about it. It is on my list for this year.
