Most of the places seem to encourage you to share vouchers! The servers are quite happy to see vouchers. I guess because they know they will be getting a big tip form Disney based on how large they can get your bill! Unless you are really huge eaters then you will have more than enough food when you share a voucher!

Even with the Q & C vouchers DD and I shared meals at Coronado Springs Pepper Market and we had more than we could eat most of the time! We took dessert back to our room for the next morning! We had the best Prime Rib there as a Grill special and another night we had great steaks there!

With VKL vouchers we ate at The Rainforest and the server suggested the frozen drinks! We had the crab and tortilla dip for an appetizer and the steak and lobster stuffed crab as a meal and the Napa Vegetables are to die for! Really good! We had a huge apple dumpling with ice cream and cinnamon sticks for dessert! Again great and there was more than the two of us could eat on a shared meal!

We used another VKL at the Brown Derby and the meal was excellent. Especially the mashed white sweet potatoes. They were very different and we enjoyed them with our shrimp cocktail and steak and shrimp dinner! We had creme bruele(sp?) for dessert and it was good also but of the money for a VKL($31) we felt be got just as good of a meal at Pepper Market for Q & C($10.50). Plus Pepper Market has a great location to take an after dinner stroll!

I have a question. I don't see any DTD restaurants listed for the Q & C Vouchers or the VKL Vouchers, but I have seen that people have used them at the Rainforest Cafe. Does anyone know if any DTD places accept either of the vouchers? I printed out the lists from the main Voucher FAQ and there is nothing listed for DTD so now I'm confused. There are a couple places that look like we would like them. I know we LOVE Rainforest Cafe, and Cap'n Jacks' menu looks interesting, Wolfgang Puck's, Bongo's, Fulton's, etc...??? Anyone know? Did they use them at the AK Rainforest Cafe?

inkkognito:
Does your voucher list them all on the back like the Q & C ones do??

Thanks for any help :)

The Passporter guide lists the restaurant hours in their "Feasting" section. For instance, Le Cellier has lunch hours from noon-3pm but the Rose and Crown's lunch hours are listed as 11:30am-4:00pm. The VKL's can be used at the RFC during dinner hours because the menu does not change. If you have a specific restaurant that you're interested in, you can PM me and I'll look it up for you.

The RFC in DTD has recently begun accepting the VKLs, even though they are not listed on the vouchers. I would definitely call the DTD RFC to confirm that if you're interested in eating there. I don't know of any place in DTD that accepts the Q&Cs

slap me on the wrist! :( I have a Passporter and didn't even realize the lunch hours were listed- Bad DISer, Bad DISer ;) Thanks for pointing it out for me! I would prefer to go to the RFC in DTD so I'm glad you mentioned that they are now accepting them, I will definitely call. Thanks so much for all the help!

That is great news about the Rainforest Cafe-Last year we couldnt order a smoothie drink. I am still betting that it has a lot to do with who you get there as a server. But at least this year I know to ask if I can. But I do have to say that last year the server did do their best to make sure that we got the most value out of the vouchers.

Anyone know if you can order the sample appitizer at Alfredos? That would make it worth it.:hyper:

Rainforest Cafe has a sampler appetizer too and I was wondering this as well. Are items included as 'one appetizer' if they state that they feed more than 1 person? The only restrictions stated for anywhere is The Kitchen Sink at Beaches & Cream on the Q & C Vouchers, I don't know about the VKL ones, anyone??

We're off right now to see if we can make Mickey cry again at the AK Rainforest Cafe. Hubby says if I keep this up, I'm going to be escorted out of the parks by security men in mouse suits. ;)

I know that the Volcano at RFC uses the dessert option from 2 vouchers. I think that if the menu states that the item is for 2 people, then you need to ask your server to see what they will allow. Sometimes they'll let it go on one voucher, sometimes they'll require 2 and sometimes (like the Kitchen Sink), they won't allow it at all.

The last time that we went to the RFC we used three vouchers-Two adults and one Child voucher for our family of 4. They allowed us to get the sampler appetizer but it counted as two appetizers. So basically we got the sampler and another appetizer and then for dessert the Volcano counted as two choices and my husband got a cheesecake (?) I cant remember. Hope that it helps some of you.

I tried to use a VKL voucher at RFC in DTD during our June 2004 trip and the host looked like he had never seen the voucher before, called over someone else and then I was told that it could only be used at AK. But I have read of people who were able to use theirs at DTD. But until the DTD location is printed on the back of the voucher, I wouldn't count on being able to use it at the DTD location.

Yesterday we asked about the sampler appetizer and Volcano at Rainforest in AK and were told they count as two items. Interestingly, I was able to order the Icee in the souvenir cup. Usually you can't get a special mug or glass with the voucher. We didn't make Mickey cry too much because we weren't in the mood for surf and turf. We estimated our two voucher total to be around $105. You can't tell for sure at Rainforest because, unlike the other locations, they don't give you a receipt. Our server took the vouchers at the beginning of the meal, and when she served our dessert, she said we were free to leave at any time.

Seems to not be consistent at the RFC at AK. We did get receipts, but maybe that was because we had ordered additional drinks and a side salad since we had 3 adults and 2 kids and only used 1 adult and 1 child voucher. She gave us 2 receipts, one that had the total we needed to pay and another that showed what we had ordered using the vouchers. But I think she picked up both receipts and I didn't get to take any home. We also were told we had to use 2 vouchers for the appetizer sampler, which we did order. We were also told we could use the 2 vouchers towards the Volcano dessert but we opted for 2 smaller desserts. We didn't order the big Icee in the cup but when my husband saw one later, he asked the waitress if we could have ordered one using the vouchers and she said we could have.

I've been looking at the allearsnet website and figuring out what meals would provide the most value. The only problem is, (we're pretty big eaters) but for a lot of the restaurants I don't think we could eat a huge appetizer, a huge meal and a huge dessert each. Has anyone ever felt guilty or received negative remarks or had a server say no to sharing one voucher and splitting everything. I would feel kind of bad doing it, but I also don't want to waste food and money. DBF and I have VERY similar tastes in food so I don't think sharing would be too difficult for us to do. We may just have to order an additional drink and pay for it separately. Any thoughts? Is this 'cheating?'

P:)

we split at each meal...no one said a thing and Brown derby split in in kitchen for us, nicely plated for each serving.( others gave us plates and let us split it ourselves ) hubby is a big eater ( althought eyes are always bigger than stomach) and we were comfortably full, not stuffed after our meals, Lecellier, Brown derby, couldn't eat it all at RFC) i plan on using these for all our lunches next time as they were so worth it!

it may have changed since Jan. but we could have gotten the volcano or other multi serving items if we had used 2 vouchers..then we would have gotten that one desert to split

OK - quick question.

Do I have to wait for any type of confirmation pack from HWSC or can I go in and order right after I have signed up?

Hopefully I can get signed up later tonite.

I got a confirmation email and it had an account number and password and with that you are able to access your account and place your order. I think the email came in a matter of hours.

My confirmation was almost immediate, too, and I had everything ordered within an hour of joining. I was VERY pleased with the service...I had planned to cancel, but I think I will keep the membership for a while. The $25 gift certificates for $20 are very handy and are for many stores I shop at.
Barb

I am keeping the membership as well, at least for a few months. I just got an order for about $200 worth of Target, B & N, Circuit City and Chuck E Cheese. It seems like it might be worthwhile to remain a member at least through Christmas.
