So, after 2 days of driving from Ontario to Kissimmee, we are finally here and I am so excited!!! We drove through wet snow, horrible fog and bright sunshine, which made for a stressful drive, but that is all past us now. Tomorrow we will be heading to one of the parks (not sure which one as we arrived a day earlier than anticipated), but whichever park we choose, I know we will have a fabulous time!!

I am so jealous. Glad to hear you made it safely!! Only 90 more days til we embark on our three day drive to Orlando in March.

Enjoy the rest of your holiday, and wishing you a safe return.

Jealous here too!!! Glad you made it safe, enjoy the parks and the sunshine!!!!!!!! Merry Christmas to you!! :santa:

We spent our first day at the Disney Parks (yesterday) at Epcot. It was not crowded in the slightest, I was extremly surpirsed. We arrived about one half hour after the park opened. My WDS and I booted it to Soarin' to secure fast passes for our party of 10 then met the rest of our group at the stand by entrance to Test Track. The stand by wait for Test Track was 30 minutes. We then proceeded to the Nemo ride and on to the Crush Talks show (love this show). We obtained a Kim Possible mission that started in Italy, so we took the boat across the World Showcase to complete our mission. I find these missions to be excellent for the kids and it really allows the kids and the adults to see more of the countries than they may have otherwise. We ate lunch, visited the toy store in Japan and headed back towards Soarin'. We stopped to listen to Pere Noel and the kids got the autographs of Mary Poppins and Chip 'N' Dale. I pulled the trick of calling Chip 'N' Dale squirrels!!! They did not appreciate this very much, it was quite hilarious. We then made it back to Soarin'. This was the first time for my sisters family to ride Soarin' and they loved it. Lastly, we went on the other ride that is in the same place as Soarin' (Living with the Land??). By this time it was 4:30pm and we were ready to head out for the day. All in all, this was a pretty magical day....can't wait for tomorrow at DHS!!

Oh, I forgot to mention that later the adults headed to DTD for some last minute Christams shopping while Grandma & Grandpa stayed at the rental house with the kiddies.

Today we spent the day at DHS. We started the day out with the character breakfast at Chef Mickey's. This was our first time eating at Chef Mickey's and I have to say that this is not something we will be spending that much money on again!!! After breakfast, we all headed to DHS and arrived there before 10:00am. We went for TSM fps, which we got with a return time of 4:10pm. So, we toured DHS for the day ending the day off with our fps to TSM. Today was very cold, which may have played a part in the low crowd levels. I did not think I would be saying that considering that I am from Canada, however, the wind really cuts right through you. Tomorrow we head to MK on what is expected to be another cold day.....can't wait!!!

We left WDW yesterday after spending the 19'th to 26'th and yes it was very cold. We drove to Fort Lauderdale and it was 42 when we left the Wilderness Lodge and it only climbed to 58 by the time we hit Fort Lauderdale. They will set cold records for the next 2 days. We are on the beach here and it is such a shame that we can not go lay out but there are plenty of other things to do. We are going to the swap shop in an hour andt then we are going to watch Boston play Florida (hockey) tonight. The weather will be better for you by Wed/Thurs.....Have fun!!!

If you don't mind me asking, how much did it cost you to drive down? And where and how much was your rental property?
Thanks so much and have a great vacation!!

Glad to hear you made it down safely. Enjoy the rest of your trip.

The weather has warmed up nicely and we are having a great time.

We drive a 2008 Sante Fe V6 and we spent $230. on gas coming down. We have a roof rack with luggage on top and that creates a lot of drag. Also, the wind was really bad. I find that once I put the snow tires on the car it affects my mileage. But, $450 for four people to and from is a great deal. We get to take anything we want. Also, we have seen the closed airports in the northeast and stranded passengers. A lot of the flights from Syracuse are via New York so we could have got stuck. I personally like the drive.

We are offsite at the Travelodge Suites Eastgate. They have done a lot of renovating this year including new pillow top beds. We have stayed here on and off since 1993 and know the manager. We get a good rate and a choice room so it works for me. We have three separte suites for myself and DH, one for DD and BF and one for DS and DBIL.

Hope this helps

Nepean
