Made it past the first hurdle - the other half

A few years ago I suggested looking at DVC but was met firmly with, "A timeshare, are you crazy!"

We have a trip planned to WDW for August. I raised the subject again this evening, "Remember when I was looking at that DVC ..."

Much to my surprise, the response was, "Well maybe. It might not be a bad thing to do."

Lucky for me, because the info pack from DVC is on it's way, and I've been researching resales. This might have been tough to keep under wraps for much longer

we bought our dvc membership 3 years ago. When my husband said he wanted to check it out, I'm the one who said no way. We did the tour and I was absolutely sold. Since then we used the points to stay in WLV for 10 days in 2br suite, we also stayed at the plaza last year. I think they are correct in saying you will vacation more. Good Luck convincing him. It's funny - I was the one who came up with the idea for initially joining DVC. Some friends of ours joined and I kept bringing it up that I sure wish we could join also. Finally my DW said okay and we joined buying 150 points at VWL. But this was really my thing - I was paying for it and I did all the planning, etc. Then just out of the blue - about 6 months ago my wife said "why don't we buy an add-on at HHI and I'll pay for it". Wow!! You just never can tell about wives. The thought had not even crossed my mind. So we bought the add-on, she paid for it and is paying the annual dues. Now granted - she has said the reason she did it is because she loves the beach and knows now she can have a week at the beach from now on. But then again you just never can tell what your spouse is thinking. Now she loves DVC just about as much as I do.

I think the realization has sunk in that we really do go down there every 12 to 18 months, so why fight it. There was also a bit of a shock factor as to what the resort rooms are going for now, compared to about 4 years ago when I first floated the idea.
