I am blessed to have two of the sweetest DILs you could ever want.
One of my DILs and DS lost their homes and a lot of their possessions to Hurricane Rita. Their little town of Holly Beach, LA. was totally washed away, not a single home was left standing. Among the many missing treasures were all of their wedding pictures, every one. One of her Christmas presents was a complete new set, wedding, shower and all, put in albums by DD 14. Bless DIL's little heart, she sobbed and sobbed with joy. Not a dry eye amongst the rest of us either.
My other DIL is the mother of our precious GSs, ages 3 and 8 months. I collect Willow Tree Angels myself and found one called Quietly Figurine that is a mother holding her 2 little boys close. It was the first gift I bought this year. When DIL opened it she shed some mothers tears of love. We also made this DIL laugh. She asked for a Chiminea. While looking around at the mall one day DD and I ran across a Chia Pet pig. DD made a sign that proclaimed "My name is Chiminea". She hung this around little Chia pig's neck and wrapped it well. DIL opened it and I asked her "Didn't you want a chiminea? Isn't that what they are?" you could just see politeness and honesty flash across her face but we burst out laughing and gave her the real thing.
I just love my DILs and the neatest thing is DS # 3 Just got engaged to the loveliest young woman!
Looks like DIL # 3 is going to be just as wonderful as the other 2. Lucky, lucky me.
