Made a dumb mistake with Verizon Smart Rewards

I'm so disappointed in myself for getting sucked in and not reading things thoroughly. I got an email earlier this week for 10% off gift cards. I figured this was a great opportunity to use some of those worthless points. I ordered $200 Royal Caribbean gift cards for $180 (without reading the fine print....I figured they were actually gift cards).
Well, I got the envelope yesterday and no, they aren't gift cards.They are gift certificates that can only be used to book a new reservation. Can't be applied to an existing reservation or used for onboard credit.
They were supposed to be used as a gift (boss, we all pooled money together)....so now I guess I'll haave to eat the loss.
The info was there, I just didn't click around enough to find it. My mistake....don't get suckered in like I did!

That is good to know. I ordered the Carnival ones, but they really were gift cards that I used to apply to my cruise payments. I will check them more carefully in case things change, though!
