I noticed on another site that the cups are missing right now, and it's on the calendar now (it wasn't before!) as being refurbed through Jan 17th.

Just in case someone wants to know before they go. :)

I'm leaving for a 3 day trip on Friday morning. That's too bad. It could be worse though. I'm already upset that I am missing Haunted Mansion...but that's what happens with these January/February trips :upsidedow

Well you can always ride the ladybugs over in DCA.

Good eye, bumbershoot!

Hmm, you think for the refurb they'll make the wheels on the cups easier to turn again? :scared:

I'd love that!
I want to be falling down dizzy when I get off and I just don't have the muscles to pull that off since they made them harder to spin.
I doubt it though since I'm sure it's a liability issue.

Forgot about that ride! It doesn't spin with a wheel at all, but I think it's great fun. For anyone who hasn't been on them and will be there while the cups are down, try them out.

Even without kids? =)

I thought all of the rides in Bugs Land (other than Bugs Life) are for kids and you can only ride them with kids?

JH23,
Of course adults only can ride the Bug's land rides. I have forced DH on the Chinese to-go box twirly ride and Heimlichs Choo Choo on more than one occasion.;)

Those are the only two I have tried though.

I'm getting way too excited right now...I will be leaving Sacramento in about 30 hours. I have no work or anything to worry about...but also nothing to distract me. :dance3: I'm getting a bit stir crazy. I have already packed too! Guess I'll just be looking at the boards for a bit :lmao:

My boyfriend is willing to go on every ride :woohoo:

So excited!

Well, you might feel a bit odd without kids, but there's no solo-adults-keep-out sign. :upsidedow :goodvibes

Just don't go running through the water play areas and make it unsafe for the little kids. CMs and parents don't take to kindly to that (and neither do 3 year olds who get knocked over!).

I'm going on a solo trip this month and even though I won't *have to* go into bug's land, I might if I feel like it. It's possible it just won't feel like a comlete trip without at least one turn around the Heimlich Chew Chew Train track! :rotfl:

I wouldn't take over a kid area...and I definitely don't plan on running through water...a bit cold :rotfl:

I've avoided that area mostly because I don't like making kids wait longer for me to ride something more to their size than mine...i.e. Dumbo. At DL Dumbo and the Astro Orbitors are the only ones I frequently bypass because of this little rule. I love when I get lucky though and there is no line. Then I don't feel guilty.

I think my boyfriend is going to be disappointed about the teacups...

It will be hard to truly be disappointed as this trip is actually a Christmas present from my parents.

This is my first vacation with a boyfriend and my first trip to Disneyland with anyone other than my mom. I've been trying hard to let go of doing it all "my way". I keep reminding myself it is his trip too. He likes sitting down and enjoying atmospheres...I like to go go go go GO! I mostly just like him though so I don't mind seeing it the way he wants to...and he feels the same.

Just had to get that all out. Phew. :upsidedow

I will warn you, though, the bumper cars AKA Tuck and Roll's Drive'Em Buggies, and if you are 5'3" or over, be prepared for a difficult time "driving" the thing. I'm that height and my leg starts cramping up by the end of the (very very short, very very slow, very NON bumping-into-each-other) ride because really it's built for 9 year olds. :)

I think it's a really lovely area of DCA, and it's definitely worth taking a walk-through.

Sounds great :thumbsup2 I'm 5'6 1/2 so I won't be doing that one haha.

We were posting at the same time.

Aw, don't worry about taking up room, you're just one person (plus your boyfriend, of course).

A really nice time to go to bug's land is twilight. Pretty pretty.

You post on here a lot. I always appreciate the tips you give. :goodvibes

Ok now it's time for me to keep exploring the boards for something I don't know yet...

I do post quite a bit. I sit here in the living room while my 3 year old plays with all of his toys and post on my laptop. Make lunch, post, go for a stroller-walk to the post office (to mail in our entries to the Year of a Million Dreams, LOL), come back, post, put him down for a nap, post, blah blah blah. I likey the internetz. :lmao:

Glad I can help you. I mean, if I'm going to be here (and other places at the same time, ooooooh) all the time I might as well help every so often! :rotfl2:

Sorry, we have a kids' show on here (after dinner, DS is telling DH about his dentist appointment today) and they were laughing hysterically, and it became so infectious that I had to show laughing emoticons.

I'm taking lots of different tips, secrets, facts, etc from the boards and other sites and making my own little booklet to give Chris for the car ride (like he is a child or something lol)

He doesn't know a whole lot about Disney. Like the fact there is a basketball court in the Matterhorn. This is fun and will help me pass the time until I leave. :teacher:
