Well I was sad when ElecTRONica left us, but am optimistic about Mad T Party. Has anyone been? How does it compare to ElecTRONica?

Most importantly, do they still play electronic music? because I'm looking to get my dance on like it's going out of style

:banana::woohoo::dancer:party:
Seriously - ^^^ this is what I want to look like at the Mad T Party

I was there during the soft opening and the live band didn't really play anything I'd classify as "electronic" (mostly it seemed like older rock). The DJ played a mix of music, so you might hear some then.

yeah they played some from the 80's and some from 2000's like from that band No Doubt...i liked it but its really for younger crowd like older teens and young adults especially those youngins of drinking age...their drinks were seriously strong:scared1::rotfl:

Between the previews and since the official opening night I think I've only missed one full night so I think it's safe to say I definitely prefer Mad T Party to ElecTRONica but mostly because there's a lot more going on. You'll get a lot of what you were used to from the DJ's (I don't know who else spun for ElecTRONica but both Michael Paul and Adam Auburn are both still around), but they only play for 30 to 40 minutes each hour while the band plays for a good 20 or so minutes. There is also a 'dance crew' I suppose you could call them and a pretty interesting specialty act (dancing slinky thing called "Who R U") to check out and more going on as well.

Sounds like me :thumbsup2

Ok that's what I was hoping. I figured if Adam Auburn was around still it would be similar to ElecTRONica. Also I'm pretty excited about Who R U. I saw a similar dancing...slinky (perfect description really - good job lol) at a Cirque Du Soleil show and it was one of my favorite parts.

Thanks for responding all

I bet with school out now, all the high schoolers with the sweet dance moves are going to be there. We went to ElecTRONica in February and there were a couple of dance circles where only 1 person danced at a time. Eventually the few that "could" dance were running out of...moves?...I guess and it was getting boring to watch an empty circle. So some friends and I after a couple of those strong drinks, grabbed some people who were sad that entire dance area was being taken up by a single dance circle, jumped in the circle with our less than stellar dancing and the crowd quickly dissolved. A bit proud of that moment.

If you're going to be a goofball, you have to own it right?

haha well i can honestly say you wont have to worry about that...we went a couple weeks ago and there were TONS of girls mainly who were up there singing and dancing and Bella Ella was one of them...her and her group of friends were right against the stage...i stayed for about half an hour just so i could get a feel for the whole thing and it was very cute but definitely not my scene...now if they played Stevie Nicks or Fleetwood Mac then that would be another story..id be pushing my way up to the front and jumping up and down the whole time:lmao:...after i moved away from the stage i went over to watch the dance crew and they were good...didnt stay for the slinky because i didnt want to wait there all night...i wanted to go ride screamin lol...from the sounds of it, you will love it:thumbsup2

LOl!!!:lmao::rotfl: Gotta love it! I experienced the same last summer while at ElecTRONica!! There were several circles with one person dancing. My DD5 wanted to dance but all of the floor space was taken by the mini-raves! :rotfl2: I wish I would have done what you did! Gotta love a good stiff drink! :cloud9:

The DJ was playing dubstep and a lot of electronica.when we were there on Friday.

We saw part of it Saturday and I thought it was great. If you want to experience the music but not be in the mix of the dancers, you can have a bite to eat at the hot dog shop around the corner and sit in that seating area next to muppets. You can hear well but don't have to dance.

Glad to hear. I miss DL for about 3 yrs going mostly to WDW. When I went this past Feb I loved Electronica and watching everyone dancing. The circles I saw were great ones. I thought what have I been missing. Going DL August not sure about Mad Tea.

Hoping there is some shuffling going on. LOL

I LOVE Mad T Party! A lot of fun! I LIKED ElecTRONica and the theme, but the music itself just didnt grab me (sign I'm getting old lol). But Mad T Party is just more upbeat and a different mix of music. And the theme is fun too! I like how colorful it is. They did a great job with it.

Patrick - the tag fairy paid you a visit! How cool is that?:thumbsup2

We plan on checking it out next weekend. Having a drink and enjoying the experience. No dancing for me but I enjoy watching and listening to good music.

I have heard it said that self mockery is the essence of true dancing.

I have also heard it said that tequila is liquid dancing.

Oh hey I forgot I made this thread :)

Very nice surprise! Hope I can continue the one-liners :D

:rotfl2: It depends on who you ask, because I know some that would saw it's a sure way for them to end the night crying and calling ex girlfriends.

Well we were there 2 weeks ago aaaand I wasn't very impressed. They have 4 different things that happen every hour. They have the live band, the DJ w/ dancing, Who R U and a dance routine.

The live band does all covers and they did a good job. Mostly stuff you kind of sway to and bob your head and anything from classic rock to Justin Timberlake.

The DJ we had - the lady (I forget her name) - was not very good. I just didn't like the music she played, mostly the stuff you hear on the radio and she did a lot of pumping up the crowd like "make some noise on 3 - 1, 2, 3, WOOOO" and it fell flat. The next day, DJ Michael Paul (I think) was up there and the music was much better, heavier/bassier electronic music, and I was disappointed we had other plans so we couldn't stay. I was REALLY hoping to see DJ Adam Auburn up there bc I saw him at elecTRONica and he was great.

Who R U was ok. There is a similar performance at Cirque Du Soleil - Ovo that was is better so I was comparing Who R U to that.

The dancers weren't bad either. They just danced to one song.

The problem is the Mad T Party is a 4 ring circus. Just when I was getting my groove on by the DJ/Band stage, Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dumb come on at a DIFFERENT stage and tell everyone to watch something for 5 min, then the DJ comes back on for another 10 min, then more Tweedles for 5 min, then DJ for 10 min, then the band for 15-20, then the DJ. So there is a lot of back and forth. I was there to dance and unfortunately, stopping every 3 or 4 songs really interrupts my rug cutting.

When I was at elecTRONica in February, the music was non-stop. If there was another performance else where, I couldn't tell.

I have to agree there is ALOT going on at Mad T Party but I think it keeps the energy going and you are always distracted which is why I like it. That said though, yes, if your main objective is just to dance, then its not a great format!

But I really like the party! It really is a good time in general for me and I think whatever issues it has will be worked out in time. I mean its basically 3 weeks old with two soft opening weekends, so hopefully they will add or change whatever doesnt work too well.
