Lol, it's a serious question - I just wondered whether anyone else thinks it's completely mad. You wouldn't believe how many people have been gobsmacked at the idea.
I did it once but only cause the cinema near her wasn't showing the film. I drove 45 miles to my friend's flat, she followed me back in her car. We ended up going to a cinema that my 6 miles away. I did a 102 mile journey to go 12 miles
If it was with a meal/some shopping too, then absolutely! But since going to the cinema by itself isn't particularly social or a chance to have a chat and catch up, probably not.....
Yeah why not. As a Mother of two young children who I love dearly but rarely get time away from, I'd see 75 miles alone in a car with all my CD's as heaven. Put my Alan Bennett Talking Heads CD on and the time would fly
Is that one way, or the round trip?

I have 2 best friends who I would definitely do the trip for as I know they would do it for me. I'm out with them on Friday and each of us will do a 45 miles round trip.
As for the other friends I have to be honest and say no.
My DH best friend is "dropping" our anniversary card off this weekend and that's a 4 hours drive each way. Now that's friendship!
