Mad, Mad, Mad

I lost a bet with my husband, so he told me that I had to stay away from the "dis boards for 4 days"...well... my time was up this morning and as soon as I turned the computer on went on the boards and Discovered about the .93 cents Holiday mistake, I called 1 877 HOLIDAY (465-4329) and I spoke to the custumer rep who told me that It was a mistake but as long as you have the confirmation number they will honor it I asked if there was a limit but she put me wiht the supervisor who told me that any confirmation number will be honor...But that to be fair with all their custumers they are offering the 5th night for the .93c rate it will be from aug14 to sept 3rd. This is only for the Holiday Inn in the walt disney area (Hotel Blvd) all you have to do is call and request the offer.


Now to said that "I am boiling mad" is to put it mildly. I do not even want to talk to my husband

I feel your pain. I guess that is what I get for sticking my nose in the same board for too long. I guess I will skim the boards from now on and then move back to what I saw was interesting.

I saw the posts and said to DH "If I can find a room for less than $2 / night could we (the kids and I) leave for Disney a week early?"

Background - even though DH gets 4 weeks vacation / year he is only allowed to take one week at a time. Seeing this great rate, knowing we're going in September, thought to myself that for that rate the kids & I could go down a week early and just use up the plusses we have left from our old tickets. DH comes down and we go to the parks as a family. Everybody (esp. me!!) is happy.

DH's response - no.

I'm so mad at him today and bummed out all at the same time. It's not my fault he can only take one week at a time. It's not my fault he works 12 hrs / day M - F and 8 hrs every Sat.

Oh well, I guess we still get to go (for one week) so I should be thankful for that.

You are a better wife than I am, I wouldn't have asked if we could go, I would have said something like " I've got an opportunity to get a hotel room for less than $2. a night. Since you aren't able to get any more time off, I think I'll take the kids down a week early and use up some of those plusses we have laying around. Any problem with that?" Same question, just doesn't give him absolute veto power.

Did he give any reason for you to sit around waiting for him to finish his 12 hour days and 6 day work week? I'd love to know what his reasoning was.

I wouldn't say that I'm a better wife than you, I would say that I'm a slow learner when it comes to stuff like this though.

Anyhow, long conversation - with the condensed version being that I said that was sort of selfish, if he had a great travel opportunity I'd probably be jealous but I'd want him to have a good time. So he says to go ahead and get in on the deal! He's driving me

As for his work days, they fired one guy and another guy quit so they are hurting pretty bad so I hate to whine (too awful much). I love our kids, our dogs, my DH, our life but I think the sameness (is that a word?) of everyday tends to wear me down. You can only chase so many dust bunnies and then
