Mad As Rabbits: A Disneyland pre-trip report.

Yes, and I was just texting with her. She is in line for a meet and greet with the Maine. She hates waiting in line.:lmao:

HAHA! Who does? Then again, there will be a lot of waiting in lines once you get to DL! My sister will probably be sending me texts from there all night. Grr. I be green.

Yeah but lines at Disneyland are different. She is complaining because they are waiting to go in and it's cold in the city and she left her jacket in the car because she didn't want to bring it in.

Haha. Well, now, that's her on fault isn't it. :lmao:I remember when we were trying to watch the fireworks at DL on Sunday night when it was cold and RiverLou didn't bring her jacket because she didn't think she'd need it. I was silently laughing my behind off.

She didn't want to worry about it in the concert and her know it all sisiter told her to leave it in the car when she left.

It was completely unintentional. Well at least a little bit!

Man, I just have no idea how I'll manage until the beg reveal :rotfl2: It's not like I don't have thousands of pictures to fiddle through or anything to occupy my time.

I know I am waiting to see these pictures.:lmao: So how this for a big reveal the dates of the trip were changed tonight so that throws a monkey wrench im my plans. We are now going July 27 thru August 1. I will tell all tomorrow on why. Husband is involved.

Well, I've gotten about 60-something done from day 2, so I'll get at least something posted tomorrow after work. But I really don't think I'll finish before my next trip to DL!!

I guess I'll just have to check in tomorrow and Friday, huh?

Hey! Your ticker is different AGAIN!!! Did you go and change the dates on me???

;)
This trip for me is kind of a triumphant return to Disneyland after being so sick last trip. There are so many things that I haven't done for years that I will be doing this trip. My Mom usually comes with us and will usually only ride Small World, Pirates, and Haunted Mansion. Oh and the train and she expects me to sit with her and keep her company while everyone else rides. Well this trip even if she comes I will be riding every ride I have ever wanted to ride and haven't like Splash Mountain. Yes, I am going to be a kid again. And I am so excited.:cool1:
That is what Ilove the most about Disney World and Disney Land. It just brings the inner kid out in you.
When we went to DL I was 16 Barely. Like 16 and 3 days!! We were in CA because my then 13 yr old sister had had a virus at Christmastime and had never recovered. She was still vomiting and it was AUGUST!! They had discovered what she had and only 2 places at the time treated it. One was CA and the other in Va. So our church had taken up money and wanted us to go to DL while we were there!!:goodvibes Long story short Nurse called Make A Wish and there were tickets waiting at the gate when we got there. So then we used the church money and went to Knotsberry Farm!!
Anyway My parents had been under a big strain. You can imagine. Pastoring a church, Parenting 5 kids, 4 stilll at home and then 2 of your kids sick My Dad had had a mild heart attach and had MAJOR high blood pressure and was just told My sisters illness was fatal. I still have images of my parents laughing and joking. My Dad riding Rides with me that no one else would get on so I wouldn't be by myself. All of us skipping down the main street. And oh the Electrical Parade. I can still feel the "togetherness" as we watched in Awe. Especially when Cinderella and her Prince came by and the Prince had been our Jungle Cruise Guide earlier and he recognized us!!!:cool1:
Girl I'm totally letting the little girl in my come out this August!! i'm even going to ride the Carousel!!!

Oops I am mistaken. I meant Friday.:lmao:
OOOOHHHH That's just mean!!

I know. There is nothing worse than uploading pictures. It seems to take forever.

That's great that he recognized you. That's a good CM. I am glad that you have such good memories of that special trip. And ride all those rides you want to. That is what Disney is all about.

Yes, I shall explain the changes in a little while.:goodvibes

Okay so when I decided that we were changing our trip from December to August I discussed with Scotty the dates that I wanted to go Disneyland because of his racing schedule. I even asked more than once if he had a bicycle race and was assured that no he did not have a race until the end of the month. Last night he tells me that he had two races that weekend. One on Saturday and Sunday, so I needed to reschedule the trip again. So I got out my handy dandy calender and picked the new dates. Stay tuned this soap opera is bound to change yet again.:headache:

:scared1: husbands!!!!!!
popcorn:: will sit back & watch how this soap opera ends up!!!! :rotfl2:

Well we will be at different parks..but we have a solution. We shall text each other and send random pictures.

Argh! I shall now endeavor to start a itinerary.

:rotfl2:

Sounds like fun ...and you can keep each other posted on ride wait times and such ;)

We will be leaving to go on the Mad as Rabbit's tour on either the ninth of August or just after midnight on the tenth.

Now I am confuzzled as to whether I want to do what we normally do which is pick Scotty up from work at 7 PM and get down to Disneyland about 2 AM and stay somewhere cheap for the night. Or we can drive to Coalinga and sleep until about 4 AM and leave to go the rest of the way.

Or there is the Monday morning addition which is leave home at about 1 AM or so and drive all the way through and deal with yucky Monday traffic. I am thinking that I want to drive straight thru on Sunday August 9. No rush hour traffic. I just need to make sure that someone will hold a room until the middle of the night. I am sure that won't be a problem. I need to research the place now.

In the morning we will pre-register at whichever DLR hotel I pick. From past experience I have learned that if you pre-pregister you get a better room. It's the old early bird catches the worm. After we do that and leave our bags with the wonderful CM's and go in search of breakfast. I think that we will probably grab a quick meal at Ralph Brennan's quick serve side. They have a pretty good breakfast, we have had it before. After we eat we will be heading over to visit Mickey and friends!

I would do a Sunday option - avoiding that Monday crunch would be well worth the weird driving/sleeping time :thumbsup2

YAY!!!:woohoo::banana::woohoo::banana: Have fun with it!

I have a list of Wont's:
Tower of Terror
Mulholland Madness
Maliboomer
and the rides around the Orange Stinger (just not interested in them)

Astro Orbitor (again, no interest)
Autopia...unless I have to....not comfortable & bore me to tears
Splash Mtn....just don't like not feeling secure in a ride vehicle....no belts, no where to brace feet (they slide from all the water already in the boat)

I guess that's about it....think I've done all the rest!!
So pretty short list!

I agree with most of your choices, other than ToT and Splash Mountain. Gravity pretty much keeps you where you need to be on SM for the big drop. I will probably do the 'carny rides' around the Orange Stinger, just because the kids will want to.

Autotopia is one sloooowwwww ride. I even remember how disappointed I was at age 7 riding it for the first time. I had an uncle who had go-karts that would really scream so Disney's version couldn't come anywhere close to it.

Tomorrow I shall make the big announcement.:goodvibes

Bum Bup-A-Bum!!!!!!! *waits on the edge of my seat and tries not to fall off*

Oops I am mistaken. I meant Friday.:lmao:

Hey yeah - ya big tease! :lmao:

No that wasn't the big announcement. The big announcement is where we are staying! And tomorrow is the day because I am locking in our reservations!:cool1::cool1:
