I am marching in a parade with Macy's Day floats in a few weeks. I just was wondering what the route looked like and if its a special one day thing..

Thanks a lot!

The parade is daily, around 5pm. The parade starts out around Twister and ends near the Macy's facade. It wraps around to head torward Terminator, turns at Mel's, then heads into NY, where it heads to its End.

Im not too sure of the specifics... but our director sent in a video tape and an information package and they asked us to play the parade. Thats the short simple story. It was a struggle to get into it.

Also, there are people in USF handing out flyers/wristbands to random guests, offering them a chance to be in the parade as a balloon handler. They must be 18+ and 125+ lbs.

I know. I'm just supplying additional information to those who may be interested. :)

I would love to do that!

Thanks for the info!

Yeah, my mom and I were asked to be in the Macy's parade today, but aside from me being too young, neither of us were interested...it was a rainy, miserable day...plus we had to get home for another week of work and school before Winter Break.

No, probably not...what they have to wear is absolutely silly looking :p ;) But, honestly, I'd feel weird participating and not being an employee...but that's just me! :)

no harm... wasnt sure if we were on the same page or not... :)

They have colored jump suits that they have you wear. Of course they are appropriate colors due to the balloon that you are working.

Sounds neat! I'd love to be picked! Do they have any pink jumpsuits ?? :Pinkbounc (only kidding - not looking for an answer to that!!)

Hunt around if you want to be picked. The time you're going, threeboysmom, is during thw slowing-down time, so they'll be looking for balloon handlers like crazy. Ask around at any attraction at USF and you may be able to get it.

The only "downside" is that you lose 2.5/3 hrs of your day (3:30-6p) so that you can be trained, walk the parade, get in your jumpsuit, etc. But the fun factor is very high, I have heard. :)

LOL threeboysmom -- YES they have pink jumpsuits  :p :p I remember commenting to my parents how I felt bad for those people! :p
