Macs and Accessories - please share

Hi all,

I really would like a Maclaren stroller for our next trip but I hate giving up the cupholders. Please tell me if you use any accessories on your MacLaren and if so, which do you recommend? I have been looking at a cupholder I think made by Prince Lionhart (????)...if you use this or something like it, do you have to remove the clip before folding the stroller? If you use the MacLaren bag organizer or similar on the handles, do you have to remove this as well when folding up? I don't want the accessories to be more hassle than they're worth. Please let me know what your thoughts are!!!

You don't have to remove the bag when you fold it up, but if there is a lot of stuff in the bag, it may get stuck in the middle when you fold it. Also, the organizer is really only meant for bottles with caps. Cups with lids will fit in it, but they lean back. Also, if you have a lot of stuff in it and your child gets up, watch out. I don't know how many times ours fell backwards when DS3 decided he wanted to walk. Oops! We also got one of the cup holders that attached to the side for DS's drinks, but it didn't fare too well one time we folded the stroller....it broke off! DS was devastated!

I have a Mac Quest. I keep the Mac Organizer Bag permanently on the stroller. It's great for odds and ends and waterbottles. However, I'm a big coffee drinker and those cupholders won't work for coffee or anything not sealed in a bottle as they tilt while hanging on the stroller.

I have a Prince Lionheart Click cupholder that's perfect for coffee.

I also love my Pepeny sunshade.

A Skip Hop Saddle bag would be the only other perfect accessory that I don't have. Great for diapers and wipes.

I have added valco universal cup holders to both my Macs. they are the best cup holder out there IMO. a bit pricey but so worth it. they are easy to attach (did it myself) can be relocated if need be (I put both on same side of each stroller only to realize later that would not work when I hooked them up for double strolling purposes. The valco holds anything from a small baby bottle to a large 32 oz big gulp and grips it nicely but doesn't crush your cup. We put paper cups in it from fast food and also Disney refillable mugs will fit. Holds hot or cold. Has open bottom for when those inevitable spills occur they just drain through, no goo to clean up. They have a button to allow them to swivel to right position so they never have to stick out at odd angle when stroller is folded up. They are tough. Mine have both been knocked around endlessly by teens tossing strollers in and out of car.

I highly recommend them.

I never did purchase the maclaren organizer as it only holds bottles and small items. It also does not attach to stroller at bottom just attaches at top which makes it swing freely, which was annoying to me. Good feature is it can fold with stroller tho if not to full.

I agree with the saddel bags being an excellent option. allow place for kids snacks/drinks near them and can be folded with stroller but they do add bulk.

I do own the hop skip due bag which attaches over handles. Love the bag and design BUT you must place it far down on handles or it will tip lightweight strollers when kids pop out. Mine know to wait for me to tell them to disembark! I usually just toss it in bottom of stroller these days and put my shopping bags over handles if need be.

Others have commented on stroller weights for front wheels to stop tipping but I did not pay for lightweight 8.6lb stroller to add weight to it intentionally!

I find the Mac hoods to be sufficient sun shade, nice and big.

I love my ugly red gate check bags to put my strollers in for airports. They do sport some grease marks but not my strollers!

The best addition to any stroller for Disney is address labels in inconspicuous places on stroller. There are tons of macs in the parks. sometimes mistaken identity happens. Have a way to "prove" it is yours. We also put a visable marker on each stroller as well. DS5 has a pirate bandana tie to handle. DD2 has a red wired ribbon with big white dots tied on in a Minnie bow! Makes it easy for DH and Teen Siblings to locate them in stroller parking.

oh, I forgot. clip on fans purchased from 5 Below where very welcome last Sept in 95 degrees and high humidity!

Happy accesorizing. You're now free to roll around the World. oh and your now already expensive umbrella stroller? just became an investment! Better plan on lots of trips to Disney to use it!

I've got the Techno XT (an older one) with no accessories. The flap that hangs down from the back of the sun shade has two pockets. One is large enough to sit my bottle of water in. The other is perfect for sunglasses. We don't carry much though.

I plan on getting the Valco cup holder as well!! And I also just bought the clip on fan from One Step Ahead and the rayshade since the sunshade doesn't do much on my Triumph. I have got to get one of those organizer things mentioned above.
