Nice capture :thumbsup2 , it's not often you can catch these little guys sitting still for very long.

Thank You! I have the feeder right on my deck, so I just stood by the door and waited.

Just some of the many that my DW and DDs laugh at me as I chase them around the yard.

ok showing total ignorance( surprise surprise) but with a say 100 mm f3.5 macro lens can you only use it for close up or can you use it for any 100 mm shot ,macro or not...guess i don't get what makes a true macro lens a true macro lens...reason i am asking is i was looking at some shots taken with one that looked like a normal distance shot, rather than a close up so i wondered all the ways a lens like that could be used.
Thanks

No, you should also be able to use it as a 100mm normal as well. One downside to macro lenses are that they can tend to seek into the macro focus range if they do not initially lock on to focus at distance. With my 50mm it has led to a few lost shots because of the seek factor.

Now with the 50mm macro (as an example) if you are also using the 1:1 converter, you will be locked in to only macro with that combo. Without it any range is fine.
