Trying to decide what strollers to bring/rent for my two nephews for our August trip. They'll be 2 and 6(he's kind of small for his age) at the time. While we don't anticipate the 6 yr old needing a stroller, we'd like to have one just in case. We're either thinking of bringing the two Volos we have or renting the City Mini Double from one of the stroller rental places. If we bring both Volos, we can just leave one in the room if the older one doesn't use it.

What would you do? Are the seats wider on the Volo or City Mini Double.

TIA

I highly suggest if you are going to rent, go thru Orlando Stoller Rentals, that is on this site, we went thru them when we went on my son's Make a Wish trip last March and they had a lg stroller and they dropped it off and picked it up when we left..no hassle at all. Plus they have double strollers there as well. They are $$$$$$ strollers and the price is great.

Good Luck

Thanks so much for the recommendation. I just visited their website. So much cheaper than renting one at the Disney parks.

I have been to disney the past 3 years for my DSs 1st, 2nd, and 3rd birthdays.

Every year, we go through the great stroller debate - bring the Mac (we have the quest) or bring the Inglesina Zippy...Every year, we have come to the same answer and we are greatful - DONT bring the mac!!

The main reason - the maclaren is SOOO tippy if anything is on it!!

You might consider bringing 1 Volo from home for the 2 year old, but still renting the double...DS will be 4.5 on our next trip and we will have a newborn as well - we plan to rent the double stroller - for the price - even if he uses it twice, its worth it! I think that getting out of the parks at night it will be nice to have the stroller for both to get back to your car/room - so if you bring the Volo, you can use that for day outtings if you want!!

That's a great idea. Thanks so much for the suggestion :goodvibes

I am in almost the exact same situation, except my youngest DS just turned 3. We decided to rent the double. Honestly, choosing which strollers to bring/rent is probably the most difficult decision we make every single trip!

We chose the double because we like the recline. DS3 still naps, and we like the option of having him nap in the stroller. The recline on the city mini was important. Renting also means we can avoid gate checking two strollers at the airport. I also like being able to use the strollers to cart things around with us. We stay on site, but rent a car, so we don't worry too much about the double being cumbersome on buses. And probably the dumbest reason, my kids are excited to use the double stroller. I think they are considering it one of the attractions at DW.

Good luck with your decision.

We were there in Sept, and we wound up renting from Orlando Stroller Rental. We have 2 kiddos - DS4 (almost 5) and DD 2 (almost 3). We rented the double. My son is quite tall for his age, but he found the stroller to be very comfortable. DD napped one day in the stroller, but she loved sitting in it. Both kids found it easy to get in & out of the stroller, enjoyed the large canopies & were quite comfortable. DH & I thought the stroller was easy to manuever throughout the parks, it was very easy to fold for the buses, and it was great to pick it up at the resort when we arrived - and we just left it with bell services when we left.

I was concerned about there being a large number of the same orange strollers in the parks and not being able to find ours, but they had a sign or 2 on the stroller with our last name to help identify it. I also left the diaper bag on the handle bar (ours clips right on!) and we never had a problem with anything disappearing.

Good luck with making a decision - and have a great vacation!!

Thanks! I'm thinking renting the City Mini double is the way to go. It'll be nice not having to fuss with strollers at the airport.

Is it possible to have the stroller left with Bell Services? Or do I need to be present when it's dropped off?

My 2 cents, we always bring down a sit n stand......that way the little one has a seat and the big kid s can take a break by either sit or standing in the back. They also fold half way decent for any bus trips.

Is their a storage basket in the bottom of the Sit n Stand?

Yes there is a basket and it is pretty big. The side snap so bigger items can get in that way rather than trying to fit them through the seat area.

Here a link - we have the vanilla bean (brown) one. they are pretty handy....

You definitely don't have to be present when it is dropped off. I have never done a stroller rental (yet), but when we rented a crib a few years ago, it was waiting for us with Bell Services. When we checked out, we returned it to Bell Services and it was picked up there. I just remember having to get some type of receipt or claim check so that it was clear we dropped it off with Bell Services. My memory of this part is kind of fuzzy!

That's great. I can schedule a drop off around the same time our flight lands. By the time we get to the Poly, the stroller will be there.
