I am thinking of getting this stroller. Does it have a basket underneath? If not, does the organizer that you can hang from the back work well?

Yes it does have a nice sized basket (for a compact stroller at least!) underneath. It is only rated to hold a fairly low number of lbs.

I don't have the organizer, so I can't help you there.

Thanks! I will hold off on buying the organizer then.

I have noticed that have models based on years *2006, 2007* is there a difference in these besides color options? The newer models are about $30 more...and I need two!!

I don't have a Volo but I just purchased a 2007 Quest Sport and I'm 100% sure the only differences were the color options.

Thank you :)

Is the Volo the lightest and easiest travel-wise?

I just bought a Triumph! I got a 2006 model for $135 (no shipping or tax!!). The stroller is great. I chose the Triumph over the Volo, b/c the Triumph's backrest reclines and it has a fabric (rather than mesh) seat.

This is the site I bought from http://littlefolks.stores.yahoo.net/index.html

BTW, I ordered on Tuesday and recieved the stroller on Thursday.

I don't own a Maclaren but do remember from researching strollers that the Maclarens all rate to 55lbs. This is from their website:

How long can I use my buggy? Until what age and/or weight?

Maclaren buggies are designed and tested to hold up to a 22KG/55LBS child; the twins are tested to hold up to 55LBS each side. Most children determine at what age they no longer want to be in a buggy - some children want to walk when they’re 2, others when they’re 5. We suggest you let your child guide the usage of your buggy, while keeping within the weight limit.

We have the black mesh Volo from Babies R Us, it was $99. I love it!! It is so easy to steer and so lightweight. I think the basket is a good size. We haven't taken it to the World yet but I'm sure we'll like it even more then.

I have a mesh Volo too and I love it because I can hose it off when needed. (Or maybe I'll learn someday not to feed ice cream to people in strollers!)

Not sure what year mine is, '05 I think, but it did not come with the canopy. I think the '06 and '07 all come standard with the canopy.

Not sure the model - but I saw a Maclaren nicer than the Volo, at Marshalls last week on clearance for $87. I couldn't believe it but I have 3 strollers already so I had to leave it because I just don't have storage for any more strollers!!! But maybe you could check there. It's not the first time I've seen past year Maclaren's at Marshalls or TJ Maxx.

Hi, I have been researching :surfweb: the Maclaren's for a while now too. I was fixated on one that reclines for my youngest who will be 20 months when we go to WDW in April, then I realized that he falls asleep in the car all the time, sitting up pretty straight, so the recline feature would not be first priority. I think with all the walking around at WDW, he is likely to fall asleep in the Volo regardless of whether he is reclining or not!

How big are the two children you are planning to use the Volo for? I like the upper weight limit on the Maclaren brand which is why I fixated on having one.

First priority for me now is something very light and easy to fold for the buses at WDW, so I picked up 2 Volo's and I think they will work out great. ( I went to a large local baby store out here and "bargained" with the owner: I got the floor model 2006 Volo in Black Carbon for $99...he took $10 off, and it is in perfect condition; also he had a 2005 black mesh Volo new in box which he sold me for $79 :yay: I had to take them!)

I have seen 2006 Volo's online for about $95 and sometimes with free shipping too. Looking at them side by side, I see no difference between the 2005/2006 Volo other than the patterns, and: 2005 is an ALL MESH seat, 2006 has mesh in the upper part and fabric where the little one's bum would rest. There is a very slight difference in the way the 5 point harness attaches to the stroller at the lower back area, but both harnesses will fit around my 20 month old and 3 1/2 year old with plenty of room. I will probably bring some cloth diapers and lay them over the bottom part of the mesh seat on the 2005, so the back of their little thighs don't get a "mesh imprint" on them (they will be in shorts when we go in April).

I will probably buy the stroller connectors (Prince Lionheart, about $10)... to bring with us if needed. The Maclaren Universal organizer looked really nice, it is a neoprene type fabric and holds 2 drinks/bottles and has a large net bag and it looks very sturdy. I will probably pick up 2 of those as well.

So far I have put all 4 of my boys :scared1: in both Volo's and given them rides aorund the house to see how it handles, so far so good. (my boys weigh from 28 pounds to 50 pounds, tallest one is 48 inches). I think they will serve us well for WDW, let's hope. I fully expect my 6 y.o and 8 y.o to be walking around WDW, but it is good to know that if one of the younger ones wants to get out for a while, it could handle the older ones for a bit if they needed a short break.

It helped for me to take my two youngest stroller shopping to "try them on", and after sitting them in the Triumph and also the Quest, I felt I would get the best deal on the Volo and it would suit my needs well without spending too much $ !

Hope this helps, keep searching online and it doesn't hurt to ask any local dealers if they have any previous years' models, as you might get a good deal. You could ask if they are willing to "price match" with online retailers too, it doesn't hurt to ask, and they might come down a little bit :)

Good luck, you will find what you need!

awww thank you so much for the informative post :goodvibes
I think I have decided to go with the Volo...my mom asked what I wanted for my Birthday this summer and I said a stroller!! Now I will only have to buy one! Thanks again everyone for the help~

I bought the Volo for my Jan trip to WDW. Let me say, I love it!!! It came with a canopy and a decent sized basket. I got it in the turquoise color from Target.com for 92.00 incl s/h. Check their website and you can also check the web for 10% off codes.

I don't have the organizer but I did get a turquoise colored bagalleni that I hang on the back of the stroller or put in the basket. It's a messenger bag but I was able to put a change of clothes, snacks, camera, bottle of water, etc in the bag.

The 2006 volos come in great colors. I love mine because I did not see any other ones like mine at WDW. I saw another person with the citrus color. That one looks nice too!!

Also, the Volos hold up to 55 lbs.
