Maclaren Volo - Harness ?

Has anyone tried to remove the harness from the Mac Volo. I received my strollers yesterday and wanted to remove the harness from the one my ds5 will be riding in. I took the shoulder harness off without issue but it appears the lap harness is attached to the frame. I really don't want to remove it permanently (cut) since the stroller will probably be used with dd2 after the trip but won't that latch (kind of bulky) be uncomfortable under his backside. Any suggestions.

I removed the shoulder harness from our Volo that we used for DD7 last year. We left the waist straps and DD just pushed them to the side and rode no problem.

Ditto to what PP said. Our son has used his Volo with the bottom harness loose for at least a year now with no problem whatsoever. They push aside easily and when he has sat on them on occasion they haven't bothered him.
