Macadamia Nut Allergy

We are considering a trip to Aulani this July. My son has an anaphylactic allergy to cashews and almonds and after speaking with his allergist she advised me that macadamia nuts would be included in that group. I have been to Hawaii with just my husband and know that mac nuts are everywhere and that makes me nervous. We have been to WDW 2 times since his diagnoses and I know they take allergies very seriously. My biggest concern is with all the mac nuts being served there could be residue/oil almost anywhere...tables, door handles, pool loungers.

I would love to hear from someone who has a similar allergy and has been to Aulani/Hawaii.

TIA

I don't think it would be worth chancing it. Even if Aulani is diligent, the thousands of guest in the resort will not be, and many will be indulging in mac nuts (because it is Hawaii! We love Hawaii). Is it worth the risk? Probably not. That is like taking someone with a peanut allergy to a snickers manufacturing plant. Probably not the best choice.

macadamia residue is EVERYWHERE. no way would I take anyone with a sever allergy to Hawai'i

Thank you for your responses. My gut is telling me it's not worth it and your responses just confirm.

Nut farms are scattered all over the island, i'd be worried it would be carried on the air, pretty much wherever you go
