Mac 'n Cheese

My youngest DD (6) is a very picky eater. Other than hot dogs and grilled cheese, the only other "entre" she'll eat without a fight is macaroni and cheese - but it has to be Kraft mac n' cheese. Does anyone know if the mac 'n cheese at Disney is Kraft?

I feel your pain about picky eaters. And to answer your question, "no," it's not Kraft or even a close approximation to it. The mac 'n' cheese at Disney is really awful stuff. It's very cheesy and gooey. I spent a lot of time trying to wipe off the excess cheese that made one of my picky eaters not want to eat his meal. We did have some luck getting grilled cheese sandwiches at a few places that did not have them on their menus though, so I would suggest you ask.

It's not Kraft.

Prior to all these "healthy" changes, it was Stouffer's. Not sure now exactly what it is.

I was afraid of that. Thanks for the tip about getting a grilled cheese. We'll definitely give that a try.

Not Kraft, but it is made with the really cute Mickey head pasta. Might be enough to entice some to eat :rolleyes1 You can usually get the pasta plain too :goodvibes

DH and I like it but it is a lot thicker and denser than Kraft, which DH would eat every day if I let him.....I swear the boy will eat at Flying Fish and Jiko etc but he prefers the "Blue Box" every time.

I hear the updated mac and cheese is not favorable and is now made with fat free cheese or something of the sort.

Last May my DD 6, who pretty much eats any type of mac and cheese, hated the mac and cheese at Disney. She only liked it at Calif Grill because it was house made with a white sauce-similar to Outback Steakhouse. The CM suggested it and we told him that she hated the Disney Mac and Cheese. He said that even adults liked the m&c and Calif Grill, and to try it.

Pretty much every other place had the Disney stuff. I don't know how to describe it, except that it looks like it is going to taste so much better than it does. Even Raglan Road had it. We asked if it was the Disney kind and the CM told us that Disney sends them vats of the stuff. :lmao:

in 2006 my DD and DS loved the mac and cheese. I don't know what they did to it.

I was wondering about this myself. My kids and I are pescetarians, although we don't eat fish very often. There are not a lot of veggie choices for kids. Do you think it is possible to get the pasta plain without the cheese sauce? I just don't think my girls will like it as described!

On one of the Travel Channel specials, they made a big deal about how they have kids rate the flavors of various versions of Mac and Cheese and use the highest rated one for WDW. It does seem as if they've done away with that and gone with something more generic.

I don't think all the locations used the mickey head pasta though...
