If you can find any X-mas M & M's on sale, found mine at CVS for 75% off,
buy them and seperate them by color. Then you can use the red for valentine cookies and the green for St. Patrick day cookies.
I got three bags for what I normally would have paid for one.

Coincidentally, just stopped by my local CVS. They're all out of the M&Ms (too many people smartly separating them like OP said, LOL), but do have Kisses at 75% off. Time to separate the red wrapped ones for Valentine's Day . . . If they last that long.

I did this one year with Hershey Kisses, I divided the silverones andput half with the green and half with the red. People who visited te office wanted to know where I got the st patrics day kisses. They thought it wa a great idea. I never thought to do it with the M&M's
