There is a little known musical called "Civil War". One of the songs is "Tell my Father" from a wounded/dying Union soldier. One of the lines that always gets me is, "Tell him how I gave my youth, so the truth could grow older. Tell my father, when you can, I was a man."

I'm sorry if this is cheesy, but I just heard one my favorite songs, and it's not very well known. So I thought I would make a "lyrics that give you chills" thread.

This one is by Angie Aparo. Probably best known for writing "Cry" that Faith Hill made famous.

It's called "Wonderland"

LOVE Angie Aparo!!! Just his voice gives me chills, sounds so amazing live. I met Rob Thomas at one of his shows. Bil asked him if they were going to work together and he said he hoped so, but I never checked to see if they did. Rob Thomas signed my dh's Christmas list. It was the only piece of paper I had on me. It had a Marvin Gaye and a Neil Young cd on it which he thought was awesome. He was so nice! I think we have Angie's autograph on a cd purchased at one of his shows, but not sure. He is also really nice.

Mine is Godspeed by Radney Foster, made famous by The Dixie Chicks.

It reminds me of the agonizing 2 weeks of not knowing and trying to get everything done to be approved, before bringing our 2 year old foster-to-adopt son home after meeting him...9 years later, I still cry, reminds me to be strong and have faith.

(Also, Jamey Johnson's In Color...who hasn't looked at old photographs and wondered what the people were going through or thinking.)

It doesn't give me chills but makes me very emotional, its Rascal Flatts "My Wish" because its everything I wish for my kids. I hear that song and hear exactly what I hope I can communicate to my kids.
