To save some money, we're thinking about taking the Lynx Bus 111 from the airport to the Royal Plaza in Downtown Disney. Anyone have experience with this way of travel?:cool1:

We leave in 6 days!:dance3:

I personally wouldn't. Public Transit is not very good in this area and the Lynx buses just scare me...but I am a local, so may not be the best person to ask

We used LYNX, you can call them and they will tell you EXACTLY what to do, to be prepared, (exact change, route number etc)
We used them from TTC to Sea World. It is NOT disney transport, no it is not the same feel, but they are Cheap and efficient and Helpful when you call for inquiries.
Good Luck. If it were adults, I would not hesitate, kids...strollers, etc, a different story IMHO!

What about the Lynx buses scares you??? They appear to be nicer than public transit bus systems in many major cities, are regularly scheduled, and its a direct trip from the airport to Hotel Plaza Blvd.

This would probably be my first choice of travel, unless you have a large amount of luggage to have to carry aboard yourself or something.

thanks for all the input. what would be considered too much luggage for Lynx bus service? We'll probably have two check-your bag size luggage and four carry ons. Is that too much?:confused3

I'm not a WDW local, but I've used the Disney buses, as well as public transit in Las Vegas and Boston. The LYNX buses are your typical public transportation buses. There won't be anyplace to stow anything - luggage, strollers, etc. - so you would be best advised to not bring anything more than you can physically grasp/control for however long the ride takes (maybe an hour with stops?).

I would expect this route, at least, would allow complete luggage - given that it starts AT the airport :teeth: - vs. just a carry-on per person or something similar. If some or all your carry-ons can piggyback onto your large suitcases, it'll be easier. I know ebags.com has a bungee especially designed for this, for $14.99, but you probably don't have time to get it :(. But many suitcases come with straps to attach smaller bags, and many smaller bags can loop over the big bags' handles.

I would say that "too much" luggage is simply more bags than you can reasonably carry at one time. You have to be able to manage (fairly comfortably) by yourself with everything at once, getting through the terminal and onto the bus, then from the bus stop into the hotel.

If the bus is not full you can place bags in an empty row of seats next to you.
