Lyft vs DME

Has anyone said heck with DME and used Lyft/Uber to save yourself time in getting to your resort from MCO? My last DME experience was painful. Almost 3 hours to get to the resort and most of it was standing in line at the airport. Sure cut into my Food and Wine Festival timel

Three hours is surprising.

People have opted for Lyft, Uber, taxis, towncars, limos for a huge variety of reasons.

I've never had it take that long. There have been times I've had to wait 30-45 minutes, but never longer than that. I'm sure Lyft or Uber would save you a lot of time, but it's probably $35 before tip to get to WDW, whereas DME is included in your resort reservation. That's why I'm always happy to suck it up and take DME; I'd rather use the money toward a meal or merch.

Yup, us. We walked down, saw the lines/crowd at DME counter, and turned around to order Uber. We were in the car and on our way within a few minutes.

I only flew in once and used DME and it was fine. I don't like paying for what I can use that is included.

We have had to wait maybe 45 minutes at the most for the DME bus. But, we are usually the last resort to be dropped off. I am not sure of the routes they take. We were the first to board leaving most times though.

A car service would probably be great if you were in a hurry.

It's by geography for the most part. The longest trip I ever had was to BC, we were the last dropped off and hit CBR, BWI, and YC before then. It took forever.

Yes our last trip was BC September 2019. Before that AKL. We have been going to AKL 2/3 times a year for the last 5 or more years. Always last. I take that back, we may have been before Kidani once.

It runs around the clock, as dictated by guests' flight arrival times, so, yes, you'll be able to get on a bus at that time.

The average time for DME from landing to arriving at the resort is 90 minutes. But there are several variables that can make or break that timeframe, so its not uncommon for things to be faster or slower. We've had it take two hours on more than one occasion - once when we arrived mid-morning on a Saturday and apparently the rest of Disney guests did too, and once when we arrived at 10pm and were virtually the only ones there.

We've taken Uber/Lyft before and its worked out fine. We have also had Tony Hinds pick us up from the airport. Him or one of his drivers will meet us in baggage claim. Once we have our luggage, they walk us out to their van which is just steps outside a door near baggage claim, and we are on our way. His pricing is more on par with a taxi, so would be slightly more than Uber/Lyft, but its faster than Uber/Lyft.
