Hello!
We’ve always done Magical Express or a car service from MCO to our hotel. However, the prices since we went two years ago have just about tripled for a car service, and we are staying offsite, so I think we are going to do Uber/Lyft for the first time.
We are 2 adults and 2 kids who will have 4 carry-ons and some school bags. Do you think Lyft XL will work?
My plan is once we land to book the Lyft XL. We are flying in on Frontier, which I believe is Terminal A. I wasn’t sure how long the walk from there to the ride share will be. Will booking once we land get us enough time to get there?
Are there any other tips, ideas, things to consider, etc?
I’m a bit nervous as I’d like the start of our vacation to go as smoothly as possible.
Thanks In advance for any info!

I wouldn’t book it until you have your luggage. I came in on Southwest a couple weeks ago and luggage took quite a while. I went out to the curb and booked Lyft. It was about 10 minutes for the car to come.

Echoing previous posters, do not request a ride until you are ready to go. Drivers are not allowed to wait for you at the curb.

If staying off-site, have you priced out a rental car instead? The cost of on-line taxis will begin to add up if you have to use them each time going to/from Disney in addition to/from the airport. Having your own car gives you more flexibility on when/where to go and you might want to shop or eat someplace off of the Disney property.

Thanks! We are just carrying on, so we won’t have to do the luggage claim. Should I wait till I’m on the curb?
Renting a car won’t make sense for us because we are mostly staying at our resort and just using the hotel shuttle for our one day at the park (quick trip). With parking fees and rental car price, it wouldn’t make much sense.

Yes, you should wait until you are fully through the terminal and ready to go.

If you are not checking bags, I would at least wait until you arrive to the main terminal building and request the Lyft as soon as you get off the tram, and yes I would recommend a Lyft XL for four passengers with bags.. In addition to Lyft, note that you can also hop into a traditional taxi cab using the cab line, this could be a good backup plan if you have difficulty getting a Lyft XL and/or pricing is high..

Thanks! Any idea how taxis typically compare in pricing to Lyft?

You can always log into Lyft/Uber to see what the current wait time is when you land for Uber XL and use that to plan when you hit the confirm ride but usually at the airport it is less than 10 minutes.
