Go to www.lyft.com and choose the Download on the AppStore link near the bottom of the page. This will let you download the iPhone app which appears to work okay on my iPad using a wifi connection rather than a cell text/data connection. I think the assumption for these rideshare apps is that you make the request with your cell phone in hand rather than using a tablet device. Many tablets only have wifi, so may not have a signal when outside waiting for a ride pickup. Without a cell text/data connection, I can only receive iMessage texts on my iPad, not a regular cell connection text, if that makes sense. Does your iPad have the cell feature?
