LuvLuvLuv's Memories TR Starts Pg 73 - Honeymoon Day 6.1

Deena,

You looked amazing!!! Congrats to you both!

Sorry about the bad check-in, but it sounds like you made the best of it. Glad it worked out for you.

I looked and looked for you at the F&WF on Wednesday and never found you. Piffle.

Can't wait to read and see more!

I love reading reviews--- and your reviews are GREAT!!! Well, the reviews themselves are great, lol. You know what I mean

*I really, truly, just can't believe your violinist acted like that--- and, honestly, it was rude for Kathleen to talk throughout your ceremony too. I know you're over it, but have you thought about complaining? I mean, I suppose in DFTW world the memories package is "cheap," but $2,000 is still a lot of money, no matter what way you look at it, and you really should have gotten what you paid for. Ugh I am so annoyed FOR you.

*And I reallllly hope that your pictures turn out well.

*Oh! Do you think the in-room celebration is worth paying for? I've been debating doing it as a surprise for DF... and as a present for me too!

Thanks

We really liked the In-Room Celebration. I LOVE my towels! We used the battery candles every night... they were great :) The petals died after a day, and I left Mousekeeping a big tip to clean them up. Also on the last day at the CR, I gave the vase of roses to our Mousekeeper Consuelo to take home. She was soooooooo nice to us the whole time, and there was no way I could get the vase in our luggage, and the flowers were still alive and well. She loved them. The spa stuff was okay, but I wasn't much on the smell. The chocolate was great, the Mickey/Minnie picture was nice too :)

What I would do if I was a paying customer would be to get the towels, a bottle of wine and wine glasses and maybe some chocolate. Tailor it to what you really want--they'll do that and it may be cheaper :woohoo:

I really appreciate your honest reviews. First of all, let me start off by saying how happy I am for you!!!!!! :) I am so glad you had a wonderful time!!!!

I can't believe the violinist!!!!!!!! I would be angry also. You would think they would know not to have a conversation during a ceremony.

Can't wait for pictures!!!!

I forgot to mention that I loved your tan in the picture you posted. I started tanning and I am praying to get to that color!

Wow, that is awful about the violinist! I wouldn't have tipped him either, I can't believe that he (and your planner) were so rude as to talk through your ceremony!! I would definitely write a letter or something and complain about that, because it's unacceptable.

However, I am glad to hear about all the good parts as well! Your floral in the pic you posted looked beautiful! And who knows, maybe you'll like your pictures better than you thought once you actually get them. :goodvibes

Absolutely loved reading about your wedding ceremony and can not wait to see the pictures. I think you were totally justified in not tipping the violinist and I would probally lodge a complaint about that wedding planner, she should know better than to stand there talking to the violinist during your ceremony.

I think it is great that you were honest in your reviews. I agree that you should file a complaint about the violinist and mention that the planner and him were chatting during the ceremony. That is just plain disrespectful! Yeah, you didn't go with the wishes wedding and drop thousands but it was still your special day, one you'll remember for your whole life, and they both should have been respectful of that. Disney deserves to know how their vendors are behaving at weddings. I think it was fine that you didn't give him a gratuity, he didn't sound like he deserved it.

Yay, part of your TR! I can't wait to see pictures! :)
Thank you for all of the reviews too, they were great! About your photographer, you were going to use Jason Angelini, correct? Is that the photographer you reviewed? Or is this a different photographer?

Deena,

I had to comment again, since I somehow missed the reviews the first time.

Sorry you had such a so-so experience. I know you were so excited to have Jason as your photographer, but also remember that you had trouble getting in touch with him for a while too. It really stinks that your day of experience didn't make up for it.

The situation with the violinist is unacceptable. Especially the talking with your planner. She should have known better to tell him to be quiet. Wow!

Can't wait to read the rest, though!!!!

I would definitely give some feedback to DFTW about the violinist. Standing there chatting while a wedding is taking place is not acceptable -- it's rude and inconsiderate. I'd look for names of folks in upper mangement of DFTW and let them know about your experience.

Great reviews. Honestly, everything can't always be A++++++ so I appreciate the honesty. I'm looking forward to more (and pictures!) popcorn::

Deena! Great start...glad to read the reviews. I love that you are completely honest and not sugar coating anything. It's hard huh? I can totally relate to what's been going on with you! At least you didn't have a bunch of guests to cause you stress and drama too! Be thankful for that!

The violinist makes my blood boil! How awful! Music was one of the most important things to me on wedding day. Our violinist was so awesome in some ways (very talented, went above and beyond during recessional) but was awful in others (completely messed up father/daughter dance-which I'd been dreaming about since I was a little girl...grr, played the wrong songs at the wrong time, etc). So I have such mixed feelings. And I am so upset for you that the limited time you had him, he completely messed it all up.

Hate that about the photographer too, but I'm sure you'll have lovely pictures. From what I've seen so far, I doubt you could take a bad pic! :thumbsup2

(BTW, who was your violinist?) PM me if you don't want it out on the boards.

I can't wait for more and for pics! Keep it coming lady! :thumbsup2

Thanks for the tip with the Luau Beach, Deena.

I was thinking about the violinist issue and talked to Amanda about it. She said "I hope we don't get that guy for his sake!" It's just plain rude and disrespectful and I agree with some of the PPs, I think a complaint to DFTW about him and the planner who engaged him in conversation.

Deena sweetie - Firstly, I want to apologize unreservedly, for calling you Lisa in my previous post!!! I really don't know where my head was, and can only assume I had been reading a post by Lisa previously (either that or I am completely losing the plot - which is highly likely!!!) It was terribly rude of me and I am so sorry!! I hope you can forgive me.
Anyway, great, honest reviews!!!
The violinist seems like a nightmare!!!! How rude!!!
Glad Rev Tim stepped up to the mark reasonable well. He is such a sweet man!!!
Looking forward to hearing more!!

Deena, your reviews were so helpful and thorough! I'm very bummed for you that your photographer didn't get your vision at all, and the violinist -- I can't even believe he acted like that! And for your planner to engage in conversation with him DURING the ceremony?!? I really hope you're going to give DFTW your feedback. Not that they're likely to care, *sigh*.

I'm glad you still enjoyed your day overall, and you really did look *so* pretty in the sneak peek you posted! :thumbsup2 I'm looking forward to reading more! :goodvibes

Good on you for being so honest with your reviews :thumbsup2 sheeesh at the violinist, I would be hopping mad and would not be able to stop myself venting "hey Rev, chill for a minute whilst I attend to little distraction....." :sad2:

Can't wait to see some pictures :lovestruc

::ahem:: its getting a little dusty in here! We are on the edge of our seats waiting for the rest! Or at least I am...

Hi Deena,
Congrats! You look stunning!

Hey, I got married the Sunday right after you. It was odd, we showed up at the Poly and Rev Tim was there and I was supposed to have Rev Jack. He said did Jack call you? ummm nope.

I didn't really pay attention to the violinist. Overall, the ceremony was about 10 minutes and the entire thing with pictures was over in an hour.

Oh yeah, I had the same planner who never unbustled my dress correctly. I didn't find out until I was taking it off. Ugh....... We had the same dress, but I got suckered into paying for a train and bustle. What a waste since it wasn't even flowing correctly.

I'm so glad it's over too!!! It wasn't really what I planned because everything was so rushed especially my photographer. It was alot of money to spend for so little time.

Can't wait to see more pictures!!!

I am with Wendy!!!

We know that you got there, we have seen one picture of the big day, but we have nothing else????

Come on already!!!! :rotfl:

Hope all is well.

Thanks so much :) We were like Ninjas at F/W that day, lol. Check in took longer than we thought, so we got there late and ate EVERYTHING! I even had to buy the cookbook to learn how to make the Ropa Vieja!

Thanks! I'm super happy with my tan... it's trying to fade, so I may hit the TB tonight, lol.

Thank you!! My flowers exceeded my expectations and I'm anxiously awaiting my pictures!!

Absolutely loved reading about your wedding ceremony and can not wait to see the pictures. I think you were totally justified in not tipping the violinist and I would probally lodge a complaint about that wedding planner, she should know better than to stand there talking to the violinist during your ceremony.

Thanks Sheila! When I told DH about this, he's like... I wondered what you were looking at, lol!

Thanks :) I kept feeling guilty about it, and kind of talked about it all day--but I'm glad the majority is agreeing with me!

Yay, part of your TR! I can't wait to see pictures! :)

Great reviews. Honestly, everything can't always be A++++++ so I appreciate the honesty. I'm looking forward to more (and pictures!) popcorn::

Thanks a bunch! Hopefully future brides can read reviews and match up all the A's and make an A+++ of their own, lol!!

We can't remember his name. I'm not even sure we were introduced the more we thought about it. It was a male, tall, dark hair, fairly good looking for his age. Hope that helps a bit, lol.

Thanks for the tip with the Luau Beach, Deena.

No problem! I think since you'll have a couple people there it won't be an issue. I think that since it was the 2 of us, that was the problem. Sure it was a little informal--but you're a paid vendor and should act appropriately!!

Deena sweetie - Firstly, I want to apologize unreservedly, for calling you Lisa in my previous post!!! The violinist seems like a nightmare!!!! How rude!!!
Glad Rev Tim stepped up to the mark reasonable well. He is such a sweet man!!!
Looking forward to hearing more!!

Lol--I answer to almost anything!! No problem!! My biggest peave is when they call me Deanna--which is his ex-wife's name  Unfortunately it happens a LOT!! Rev Tim was soooo nice!!

Deena, your reviews were so helpful and thorough! I'm very bummed for you that your photographer didn't get your vision at all, and the violinist -- I can't even believe he acted like that! Well thank you!! I'm thinking like you're thinking... they won't care. Thanks for sticking around!!

It felt good to be honest and get all that out! Lol--in my head I definately was saying that, lol!!

::ahem:: its getting a little dusty in here! We are on the edge of our seats waiting for the rest! Or at least I am...

Yeah :sad2: I know :sad2:

So here's what's going on... and here's my plan:

My little sore throat that I came back with turned into a sickness from hell. It got wayyy worse this weekend and I barely had the strength to mess with the laptop. I did get some pictures up on FB, but I'm having trouble with my photobucket. I opened up a Flickr account and downloaded stuff to it--but I'm still trying to figure it out. Not that I'm dumb--but between the congestion and the massive amounts of cold meds--I've been pretty loopy and impatient. Today is the first day I don't feel like I'm going to fall over--but I still don't feel that super.

I'm cooking Thanksgiving for me and DH. I bought EVERYTHING, and plan on getting up early on Thursday to start! Hopefully while my bird is cooking, and DH is sleeping (he works the night before) that I can do a massive update! Also while my bird is cooking I'd like to unpack and do laundry!

I keep wondering if I am going to fall into that post-wedding depression. Luckily, I have felt much much better lately and don't really see that happening! A lot of you have felt that I should write DFTW about a few things, but honestly--I have been so much less stressed since the wedding was over--I really don't want to open it back up. Does that make sense? I dealt with DFTW upper management with my Wishes crisis and it was a complete nightmare--I really don't think it's worth it. Upper management made me feel worse about myself than anyone I had ever dealt with there--I really doubt they would care. Plus, ultimately, it's over, I have a husband and despite minor details--we had a great overall time that no one can take away from us. Crazy enough--I would still recommend a DFTW simply because of the magic of getting married there. That's something that no vendor can take away from us. Moving on :wizard:

I have made my first anniversary trip resort change. I booked Sugarloaf because CR CL wasn't available... but I kept watching and it opened up! So now we're at CR Atrium Club with a Castle View :dance3:

So I may start to write about the Wedding Day this afternoon or tomorrow while I'm at work--depending how busy I am and how I feel. I was so sick I couldn't even write a clear though the past few days! Sorry to keep you waiting!!

PS: I wish my marriage license would get here already!! I want to get this name change stuff in progress!

Ahhh we had the same dress :) I thought it was great for the location!! I ordered it without the train because I didn't want to mess with it. I tried to forget about what I was paying per minute for the wedding  I just wish they would have given us a courtesy call about Rev Jack. Glad you had a great day!!

I with Wendy!!!

We know that you got there, we have seen one picture of the big day, but we have nothing else????

Come on already!!!! :rotfl:

Hope all is well.

Lol!! It's coming soon!!!
