Is it just me or what? I just LOVE the Polynesian!!:earsgirl: I have stayed there 4 times. (and will be returning in 42 days!!!). I try and TRY to stay at POFQ or anywhere else to save money. I just cannot convince myself. I love the smallness of the resort. I love the relaxing feeling. I love the monorail. Should I just give it up and be a lifer at the Poly or does anybody have any great experiences elsewhere. I don't even wnat to stay athe GF. Can't wait to hear everyone's experiences at the poly or other resorts!!

I feel the same way. We have stayed at other resorts, but I always wish we were at the Poly. We are staying at the Dolphin in September and I keep wishing we could stay at the Poly. :Pinkbounc

I'm with you- I love the Poly and the Concierge has spoiled me for life! This September we are staying at Contemporary (DH & DS favorite) but guess where we will be going next year--that's right Poly :sunny:

I am all for saving money but I justify the $$ by saying that we do spend alot of time at the resort ;) Enjoy your trip!

First of all.....Welcome to the DIS! :)

As you can see by my signature line, I have stayed at most WDW Resorts and love them all for various reasons. However, the Poly was my first and still my favorite resort!

Stay at the POLY as often as you like! ::yes::

I haven't even stayed there yet, and I love the Polynesian :bounce: I ate at the resort twice on my last trip and fell in love w/it. I said "I don't care how much it costs, I HAVE to stay at the Polynesian on my next trip!".

Just booked the poly a couple of hours ago for this Aug. 9th. This will be our 4th stay there. Have not stayed anywhere else. Just love it there.

:earsgirl: Thanks everyone....now I don't feel so crazy!! I will be there on August 23rd!! I just looked into swithching to concierge... I got this great super deal ......pay for 4 nights get 7 nights. On this deal the only concierge building available is the Hawaii building. I usually stay at the Raro Tonga, right next to the Great Ceremonial HOuse and bus stop. The Hawaii building looks so far  from the bus stop restaurants etc. Is it? or are looks deceiving?

Michele-

The Hawaii Building is in a great location. Perfect for the pool and not far from the ceremonial house/bus stop. Go for it!:hyper:

I love the tropical feel as you walk through the resort. The food is great. It doesn't matter where you eat. I love swimming up till the fireworks begin and then running over to my lounge chair and watching the fireworks show while relaxing with a glass of ice cold beer. My kids love playing 2 hand touch football on the beach with their dad. I love the concierge lounge. I love the quality time my family spends together.

Were going back next May. about 9 months to go........can't wait. :) :) :)

I can't wait until our first stay in September. I have always wanted to stay at the Poly since my first visit to WDW in the 80's. I've always said I wanted to try a different resort each time, but if it's anything like you guys are saying it is then I know I will definately fall in love with the place! I'm not sure if next year I will have the money but I will probably split stay if I have to!

We just got back a month ago from 3 nights BC and 4 at poly......I could not wait to get to the poly...when our 3 night at bc were up....and we were at the poly....i felt like my vacation finally began......I love it there...the pool....the beach...the boat to MK....the speed boats....watching the fireworks on the beach...ohannas..watching fireworks form ohannas.....kona coffee bar....I could go on and on...I love the shops......to me BC did not compare at all.......monarail.. the quiet pool...the hammocks....see i told you i could go on and on.....::yes:: amy

What is the cheapest rate you ever got for Poly (standard room, water or garden view?

What is the cheapest rate you got for Poly Conceirge?

I'd love to stay there and thought about putting it in the budget for our next trip. The only problem is, we go for 2 weeks and that would be a lot of $$$ and didn't know if it was worth it since we'll be at the parks a lot...

Just looked in my "Disney/Vacation Drawer"

In 2002 I got Poly GV Concierge for 9 nights at $287per night (I save too much stuff) this was for September

Personal friend with Cinderella. Got a rate of $235 per night Lagoon View Concierge. 4 nights in august....can't beat it!

Found a rate of 225 a night garden view in August. Gave up that rate with stay for 7 but pay for 4......comes to about 160 a night.

Anymore info on the Hawaii building..location , location, location...how far of a walk to great ceremonial house and bus stop? Keep in mind toting a 4 yr old and 11 yr olds and mother, and husband!!!

I have to agree with everyone. We are booked for our 4th stay at the Poly at the end of October before we cruise on the Wonder. We stayed at the Wilderness Lodge once. It was a beautiful resort and we had no complaints, but my heart belongs to the Poly. We keep coming back for more.

We just returned from Port Orleans Riverside - Alligator Bayou and really liked it. BUT, today I booked the Poly for April 2005. My only concern is the seeming lack of food court/ refillable mugs for the kids who will be 7 and 14. Also booked the luau. I CAN - NOT - WAIT!!!
Can anyone give me a little heads up on feeding my picky eaters while DH and I are living it up and doing some adult things?
Thanks so much!

We try other resorts just to satify our curiosity, but we keep coming home to the Polynesian.

Nothing beats a trip to the MK across the Seven Seas Lagoon in the Polynesian Launch at sunset. Ahead of you is an evening at the MK, and behind you is the resort you'll come back to when the night is done.

Can't wait to go back in September!

Wow! That was mushy! :)

The Poly has an informal self service dining area. It is not as big as the moderate's food courts, however, it has an ample supply of fresh fruit, veggies, breakfast items, prepared foods, and it does offer refillable mugs.

It has proven to be more than adequate, and indeed, among our favorite quick meal locations in WDW.
I think your kids will enjoy it! ::yes::

My user name says it all. :teeth:

DH, DD & I think the Poly is truly a piece of Heaven right here on earth.

We CANNOT wait to be back there in a little more than 3 months (We're almost to double digits!).

Debbie
