OK, this is really weird, but I can't find anything on this on any news site. I have looked at CNN, MSNBC, MSN, E! online and Sony music and none of them mention his death. Very strange.

Didn't he sing, "Power of Love"? Great song! He sung so many uplifting songs. Such a terrific voice. I enjoyed seeing his interviews and hearing him sing on Oprah. (Some time ago.) He was a really positive person.

Luther VanDross and Barry White are two of my favorite "love song" singers. I'm sorry to hear he passed away.

I hadn't heard this. I'm not terribly surprised because I heard yesterday he hadn't woken up since the stroke and that they had performed a tracheotomy to help his pneumonia. What a very sad loss of a man still in his prime.

Every time I hear his name I always think of his appearance on Oprah many years ago. He was showing her around his house and he had Lalique glasses in the kitchen for every day use. He said he didn't believe in saving things. That it was better to enjoy every day. It's nice to know that he lived his life that way and probably had few if any regrets. May he be happy now.

UPDATE -- I can't find confirmation anywhere either. Maybe this was a mistake. If anyone finds a link saying he truly has passed away, please let us know.

Maybe Sandy51 is right.....The link that Robinrs provided has changed since she posted it. How saddening to think they have this all prepared 'just in case'. Hopefully it is all a mistake.

It is a new day and you would think we could finds something on the web, but I have checked MSNBC, CNN, his website and even did a Yahoo search and nothing...strange.

Oh man, how sad.....I didnt know that. someone posted that his mother has now buried all of her children.......OMG....that is so so so sad.
I saw Luther in concert years ago in Philadelphia, (I went for the sole purpose of seeing New Edition) but he was one of the headliners of the concert, along with Patti La Belle....I have to tell you that he was fantastic! At the age of 18, I have to say that I probably didnt know who he was at that time....but just watching him that one time got me hooked....he was great!
