Hi I've been lurking here just found you when I was setting up my Disney trip(April15-22)(Yay). I've been ebaying for a few months-never had a problem-only sell have 50+ . Today I received an email from someone who bought a lot of boys3T clothes that were ds. He says wife was not happy not in good condition. I think they were- barely used a couple had a spot on them which I pointed out- I emailed back sorry - I thought they were good I would reimb. $15 all money if he mailed back. What else could I do? Really just needed to vent 'cuz I'm feeling bummed. It said on auction clothes were excellnt to good-started at $15 went to $33.30 I feel like pulling my other clothes auctions and reinspecting them. Please help?:(

Debbie- Leaving for POP 4/14-driving down YAY:earsboy:

I wanted it on the ebaying your way to disney replay line- HELP what happened? I"M feeling really bummed now!

I would not worry about it you did what was right and offered a refund. You cant please everyone on ebay this is to be expected.
Dont pull your other items. If you pointed out the flaws(in this case the stains on them)then that is all you can do.Just go on and keep selling and if they send the items back then give them a refund and if not then oh well just remember you as a seller did your best!!

I agree with dpayne. If you listed your clothes as used and even stated there were a stain or two, then it is buyer beware. I always wonder if people are honestly unhappy or if they think with complaint maybe they can get it for free. I also list in every auction of mine, "all sales are final", as I feel like it covers me in this situation. I don't know if I'd offer a refund, maybe.... maybe not. Don't pull your other items.

I would refund the monies. Sometimes its not worth the negative feedback but I would not refund the s/h. Descriptions are everything and should be perfect. I alway think that ironing clothes and sending in a well boxed package is also key to sending used clothes. If clothes are sent all wrinkled up, it gives a bad first appearance. And saying "all sales final" only helps if your description is accurate. They can still send you negative feedback saying, "items not sent as described". In their eyes they have a "case".

I also list "all sales are final" but I had a similar situation too. I had never had a complaint. I sold a lot of used shirts and the buyer emailed me complaining about the condition of one shirt. I offered to refund her a portion of the purchase amount in exchange for not tainted my positive feedback. Buyer excepted the deal and I felt much better. Don't pull your other items....just keep selling.

It sounds to me like "Dad" purchased your clothes from eBay and then tried to convince "Mom" to use them. She probably thought "Junior" was too good for used clothes or something or was expecting too much. Don't feel bad. I don't think "mom" would have been happy with anything besides NWT.

I think it was very generous of you to offer the refund. I would probably only have considered refunding those items which had spots/stains on them. Sometimes you can't help getting negative feedback - I've bought and sold quite a bit on eBay and had the unfortunate experience of purchasing a Disney Video Lot that came to me in such horrible condition that I threw them in the garage immediately for fear of roach infestation in my home. I mean it was absolutely horrible. Of course, there was nothing about roach infestation in the description, LOL. I emailed the seller and he replied the he was selling them for a friend and didn't know they were in such bad condition. I told him I wanted a refund and he refused. I tried contacting PayPal, my credit card company, eBay and anybody else who would listen to no avail. Over time I found that it just ate away at me so much to keep trying to get things straightened out that I just let it go. I was out about $125.00 and left negative feedback but that was all I could do. He, of course, responded to the feedback saying he offered a refund which he didn't. He left negative feedback for me too. I'd say just let it go and don't dwell on it. You've done all you can do to try to resolve the situation and you can't control what the buyer will do next.

I had one lady I sold a coat to, email me saying the coat had red stuff on the sleeves and when she washed it, it fell apart. I offered her a refund but doubt the coat was that way because I washed and inspected the coat before putting it on. She didn't want a refund but said it was part of the "ebay monster cycle". Don't take your stuff off, it's there to make you extra $ and everyone isn't like that.

You did the right thing. In the future though you may want to specify that all sales are final.

Debbie - To answer your question about how this got posted here instead of at the eBay thread, you must have hit the "start new thread" tab instead of the "reply" one. Seems like you are getting a lot of good advice, though!
