Luncheon-escape brides-Narcoosees? Citricos?CG?

Kristen Bruneau was the manager last summer. The restaurant's phone number is (407) 934-1613 or you can go to their website at www.swandolphin.com

We ordered two of each of the appetizers offered off of their main lunch menu and then we let our guests order whatever they wanted off of the menu...I think our total was only $600 ish with tip and tax and cake cutting/serving and alcohol!!...but we did get a nice AAA discount though, which was 20% off of food!! We took our cake in to them to have it served there...

They also let us decorate the tables! We were downstairs and off to the side.

I really hope Kristen is still in charge, because she was amazing!

Disney has been more and more amenable to setting up private luncheons for Escape brides lately, if that's something you're interested in. If you do them in a convention center venue, like the St. James Room at the Boardwalk, or at a restaurant, like Narcoossee's, you just have to meet a food and beverage minimum ($1,000 sticks in my mind for some reason) - there are no venue-rental fees or per-person minimums. You can arrange this through your Escape Wedding Coordinator.

Otherwise, there are a few restaurants at WDW that are open for lunch and can handle larger parties.

I think you said you have my book - check out the charts on pp. 31-33 for info about private events for Escape weddings, and pp. 34-36 for info about non-private group dining. They list which restaurants are open for lunch (which doesn't matter if you do a private event, of course, since you'll have the place to yourself before it opens).

Alternatively, there have been many threads on this board on subjects like "Escape Brides - What are you doing for your reception?" etc. A Google search with the limiter site:disboards.com should turn them up. :thumbsup2

That's interesting to here, I might ask about a private lunch. I must try to buy your book again, I kept getting an error last time.

BUMP!

Several questions! I called Disney Diney, the tn from Passporter, that was 2 weeks ago, they never called me back :(

ANyone know the food & bev minimum at the Wave? Or can we just have a group party there with a set menu? Anyone have an event there?Any pics?

Citricos appears to have a 650 venue fee + 18% gratuity & 6.5% tax, in the book it says it seats 12? Only 12? Is that correct?! Has anyone used citricos and had more than 12? What was the menu you used? how much per person?

How much is the ST James room? ANyone used it? How was the food? ANy pics? TY

We had lunch at Portobellos at DTD after our escape wedding! The food was really good, and our server was excellent!! We had a private patio area and I ordered apatizers off the menu. We then had everyone order off the menu. They even brought out the dinner menu when a couple of people didnt want anything off the lunch menu. There was no min. and we spent around $500 but my dad ordered a $100 bottle of wine. we did get an annual pass discount.

Honestly, I have never had anyone from Disney Dining call me back - you have to just keep bugging them. Actually, I'm surprised a live person didn't answer the call! :confused3

The private room at Citricos only holds 12. That's the one with the $650 food and beverage minimum (there is no venue fee), etc. If you want to have more than 12 people you can either make a reservation to eat there during normal operating hours (but they'll put you at opening or closing time) OR you can rent out the whole place for brunch/lunch for the $2,500 food and beverage minimum - check out page 71 of the book, in the Wishes section.

The St. James room is part of the BoardWalk Conference center, so it doesn't have a venue fee. I believe someone here was quoted a $1,000 food and beverage minimum to hold a private Escape meal there, but definitely check with your planner on that.

To find out about the Wave, I'd call the Contemporary and ask for the number of the restaurant manager or call Group Dining. It doesn't have a private room and doesn't appear to be one of the restaurants you can rent out entirely, since it is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Just to update - no I dont think you can book out the wave but it has been designed to be subdivided for groups - we are going ask about as part of our upcomming trip :thumbsup2

For the St James room...can you just book the outdoor patio?

I am gonna say no on that one because it can only be accessed from the St. James Room. Plus, there's no venue rental fee for the room so they make their money by having a minimum food & beverage charge, rather than charging a fee for the room and, theoretically, a fee for the patio. And they're not going to set up a separate minimum for just the patio vs. the room and the patio. :thumbsup2

They did ,then tranfered me into a mailbox to leave a message for Narcoosees. Then I called back to ask about other resteraunts, and got the same thing, a mailbox. :( and never a call back.

My planner emails me back occaisonally, Im certain shes busy handling all of the upcoming weddings, and well Im still far off so she gets to it when she can, but id rather dig it up myself and save her the trouble.

I did not read the whole thread so I apologize if this is a duplicate. We did our welcome dinner at Citricos and it was fantatsic. The food was delicious and the service is great. We picked their cheapest menu which was about 70$ pp but it was amazing. I LVM with the group dining line of Citricos I belive and they called me back the next day. I did this myself- planner was not involved.

We were not going to do a welcome dinner because we could not afford it since we were paying for the wedding. Dad wanted the fmailies to all meet beforehand so the wedding day was more comfortable so he treated to this since we paid for everythign else. Thanks Dad! It was a great experience there :goodvibes
