I just read in an unofficial Disney guidebook for 2005 about being able to dine with an Imagineer at MGM. The book didn't have any other details other than suggesting using proiority seating 30 days in advanced. Anyone know anything about this?
yes! it is fabulous. you are in a private dining room--the bamboo room--at the brown derby. you may or may not be the only guests w/the imagineer. you have a lovely lunch consisting of a small cobb salad, a nice soup, a choice of 3 entrees, usually a fish, beef, or chicken. for dessert there is a wonderful cheesecake. all during the luncheon the imagineer is chatting w/guests, answering questions, tells about his/her background, etc. as a keepsake each party is given a plate that says "Dining with an Imagineer" in the center of the one we received has mickey as the socerer apprenicate. it is personalized and signed by the imagineer. BTW, if there are 2 couples in your party(one reservation, but 4 people) be sure to tell the waitperson. each couple will receive one. book it! you will be ssssoooo glad you did!
Yes, you must have park admission. DS and I did it in Dec '03. It was truly one of the most memorable experiences we have ever had at WDW. The food, the service, the imagineer, the restaurant manager - it was truly magical, interesting, funny, exciting - so many things all rolled in to one. I hope anyone interested will pursue it. It is so worth the $$.
