Lunch with an Imagineer

I don't know why it never occurred to me sooner than last week that my almost 10 year old son (who wants to be an Imagineer when he grows up) would love this, but I suddenly had a brainstorm. The problem is, the only day we could do it on our trip next month is already booked up. Never mind the part where the first CM I talked to told me "The Imagineer" was not there anymore (I think she was confused...), and the second CM had a lot of trouble even finding it. Anyway, my question is, has anyone here ever lucked out and gotten a reservation for this lunch at the last minute? I believe cancellation is 48 hours out, so I'm going to give it a try, but I like to know realistically what my chances are. Thanks in advance!:confused3

I believe the recommended age is 14 and older for Lunch with an Imagineer, and it is very limited seating. I would guess most people show up for this, because you have to hold it with a credit card. I managed to get a reservation for this in Nov., but the cast member did have a hard time getting it booked. She had to disassociate my other reservations from this one in order to book it at 90+10. It is a wonderful meal and the castmembers are great. Good Luck!!

Thanks.

I think it would be worth calling, because people do cancel right around the 48 hour mark. I've heard that from two different dining CMs when booking this lunch (highly recommend it, btw).

Just returned from Disney and was able to have lunch with an imagineer. I took my 15 year old daughter. She enjoyed it but was hoping to talk to a animator but we spoke with the director of sculptures. It was great conversation with our table mates. She gave my daughter and another 13 year old some suggestions for school and how to study their interest but no great advice. The lunch was very good but not something the kids enjoyed. We requested some changes to the menu that waiter did accomodate but overall it was very pricey. I would think your son would enjoy this lunch when he is older but would not recommend taking a 10 year old. My daughter felt out of place most of the lunch.

If you truly wanted to book it took me several attempts to call WDW dining to get in. I booked our lunch at the 45 day mark.

Your Imagineer was Joni Van Buren, right?
